About the role

We are seeking a highly experienced Project Manager II, Industrial Operations to oversee a diverse portfolio of operational improvement and capital investment initiatives that support business performance and long term organizational growth. This position is responsible for planning and delivering projects that enhance infrastructure, optimize processes, and maintain operational excellence across the site.

The successful candidate will lead cross functional initiatives involving facility enhancements, equipment implementation, operational upgrades, and strategic investments while balancing business priorities, budget expectations, and stakeholder requirements. This role requires a collaborative leader who can manage multiple projects simultaneously and deliver results in a fast paced industrial environment.

 

Note: Due to business needs, this position is required to be fully on-site at 50 Pemberton Avenue, North Vancouver.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the execution of operational and capital projects from concept through completion, ensuring alignment with business objectives and organizational priorities.

  • Develop project plans, schedules, budgets, and resource strategies while proactively identifying risks and mitigation measures.

  • Coordinate with internal departments, contractors, consultants, and external partners to deliver projects safely and efficiently.

  • Oversee facility upgrades, infrastructure improvements, equipment installations, and operational enhancement initiatives with minimal impact on day to day activities.

  • Monitor project performance, including cost, schedule, quality, and scope, and provide regular updates to leadership.

  • Drive continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to streamline processes and improve operational reliability.

  • Support long term capital planning by contributing to investment strategies and future project roadmaps.

  • Ensure compliance with applicable safety standards, regulations, and company policies throughout project execution.

  • Evaluate project outcomes and implement lessons learned to improve future delivery practices.

  • Foster strong relationships with stakeholders across operations, engineering, maintenance, procurement, and leadership teams.

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams and provide guidance to ensure accountability, collaboration, and successful project delivery.

     

What you’ll bring

  • Post-secondary education in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Business or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • PMP certification or equivalent project management credentials are considered an asset.

  • Eligibility to meet Canadian Controlled Goods Program requirements and obtain Reliability clearance.

  • Minimum 6-10 years of experience managing capital/infrastructure projects in industrial, or manufacturing environments.

  • Demonstrated experience leading complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.

  • Strong understanding of operational planning, capital investment processes, budgeting, scheduling, and risk management.

  • Experience coordinating contractors, technical specialists, and cross functional teams.

  • Knowledge of facility systems, industrial equipment, or infrastructure projects is advantageous. Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills with the ability to influence and build consensus.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and project management tools such as Smartsheet or similar platforms.

  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities while maintaining a focus on safety, quality, and business outcomes.

The estimated salary for this position is $135,000 - $165,000. In determining final salary, Seaspan considers many factors including the successful Candidate’s skills and experience as well as position location and internal equity. The final base salary offer will be at the Company’s sole discretion and presented as part of a competitive total compensation package.
