You as a Project Manager, Design Build and Preconstruction will:

  • Lead a team of construction and design professionals in the development of Design-Build and Alternative Delivery RFQs and RFPs for Civil projects.
  • Review contracts and provide a commercial analysis of the contract including the submission of contract comments and leading commercial CCMs with the Owner.
  • Liaise with project estimators to develop work breakdown structures and participate in subcontractors’ engagement and bid reviews, capital development, marketing, legal and facility management as required.
  • Work with project schedulers to complete a project schedule for submissions to the client.
  • Lead development of RFQ and RFP narrative technical writing and responding to Owner questions including assisting with resume and project profile development.
  • Ensure high standard and competitive commercial and design strategies are developed and optimized in accordance with the RFP instructions; focused on winning the pursuit.
  • Play a strategic role in fostering a collaborative team environment, in conjunction with various discipline groups and stakeholders.
  • Use experience and commercial knowledge to assess contract risk and to facilitate the execution of partnership agreements.
  • Assist in the project handover process and if requested, participate in the execution phase of a project to aid in the management of preconstruction and overall project startup activities.
  • Lead or support preconstruction "Construction Advisory" projects while providing construction specific expertise to the pre-development phase of Civil and Transportation Projects.

Is this the right role for you?

  • You have an engineering or construction related degree/diploma and at least 8 to 10 years of Design-Build or Construction Management experience.
  • You have a good understanding of contract language and commercial experience.
  • You have strong writing skills and can develop technical narratives.
  • You have a combination of technical training and experience working on Civil projects.
  • You have working knowledge of construction scopes and activities, design development, municipal approvals, scheduling, and project management.
  • You can confidently mentor a team while developing and maintaining strong client relations.
