What to Expect: We are looking for an Innovation and Renovation, Project Manager. This is a 12 month Contract role. This role will be responsible for the efficient, effective, flawless planning and execution of Innovation & Renovation (I&R) projects of medium to high complexity across the consumer value chain. This role may also include business process improvement initiatives. As an I&R Project Manager, you will be apply project management tools and skills to ensure the on-time launch and flawless execution of projects from ideation to project closure.

A day in the life:

  • Lead the communication of project scope, objectives, key success criteria and expectations
  • Build and manage the project schedule, defining the critical path, tracking activities to ensure functional team members are meeting agreed upon deadlines and approvals, generating and communicating status reports, and escalating critical issues.
  • Facilitate problem solving for project setbacks and issues, using LEAN tools
  • Preventive management of roadblocks and generation of project risk mitigation plans
  • Coordinate and facilitating project discussions including kick-off meetings, project team meetings, risk assessments, lessons learned and post launch reviews
  • Provide visibility and transparency to project status to cross functional team members, I&R Program Managers and Category Leadership Team.
  • Develop, align and present projects for Gate Advancement, Deactivation and Scope Change at monthly Category Project Review Gate Meetings to Category Leadership team for review

Apply leadership, coaching and influencing skills to manage cross-functional teams and drive projects forward, ensuring time and resources are used effectively and efficiently to meet project and business objectives.

  • Lead cross-functional team in identifying and mitigating risks and opportunities. Identify solutions to remove roadblocks and drive corrective action to meet project goals and business commitment.
  • Drive accountability and transparency across the consumer value chain - Flagging /escalating conflicts or misalignment to I&R Program Managers, Functional Leader and/or Category Leadership Team (with transparency, discretion and as appropriate)
  • Engage, leverage and challenge cross-functional team to optimize every step across the consumer value chain
  • Support the Category I&R Program Manager in bringing transparency to I&R Portfolio status, gaps and optimization options thru sharing of Program insights, reports and dashboards
  • Coach and Support Commercialization Project Specialists as required
  • Act as a delegate for I&R Program Manager for key I&R Meetings

Responsible for the consistent application, disciplined execution, and continuous improvement of Nestlé’s I&R processes and tools

  • Manage assigned projects and their cross-functional teams through the established processes, including the project review gate process.
  • Identify, document and ensure implementation of business process optimization initiatives, in order to eliminate waste - creating value added best practices
  • Drive proper and consistent use of the Nestle project management system by maintaining and ensuring data accuracy and documentation as specified by relevant policies and procedures, meeting established KPI's
  • Maintain and drive effective use of project templates and documentation throughout project lifecycle

Role Requirements

  • Minimum 8 years of cross functional experience preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of effective project management experience
  • Experience with stage gate methodology preferred
  • Business / Commerce degree / BA required
  • PMP (Project Management Professional) Certification an asset
