Position Description
**Position:**Industrial Jobs' Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced Industrial Sealants and Glazing Supervisor tooversee and performbuilding envelope work on commercial, industrial, and high-rise projects throughout the GTA. This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring advanced technical knowledge of sealant systems, glazing assemblies, and faade remediation. The successful candidate will lead field crews, ensure technical accuracy, enforce safety compliance, and deliver projects to Aurum's standard.
Schedule- Flexible, 40 hours/week
Pay rate- $30/hour-$45/hour (Based on Experience)
Location- GTA
Responsibilities
Technical Supervision- SealantsBuilding Envelope
- Ensure proper joint preparation, including removal, grinding, cleaning, priming, and backer rod installation
- Select appropriate sealant systems based on substrate compatibility, movement capability, and manufacturer specifications.
- Verify sealant depth, tooling, adhesion, and finish meeting project and manufacturer standards.
- Supervise and perform sealant installation on Curtain wall systems, window and door perimeters, expansion, control, and movement joints, precast concrete, masonry, EIFS, metal panel, and aluminum assemblies.
Glazing SystemsWindow Installation
- Supervise and perform installation, replacement, and repair of insulated glass units, storefront and curtain wall glazing systems on commercial and high-rise windows.
- Oversee dry and wet glazing methods, including gaskets, setting blocks, pressure plates, and sealants
- Diagnose and resolve glazing failures such as seal failure, water infiltration, air leakage, and thermal bridging
- Ensure compliance with the Ontario Building Code and applicable CSA standards.
Field Supervision, Execution, and Quality Control
- Supervise, train, and lead on-site crews for industrial projects like sealing, caulking, glazing, window installation, and other maintenance projects.
- Assign daily tasks, monitor productivity, coordinate sequencing of work, and ensure work is completed on schedule.
- Conduct site assessments and job planning prior to project start.
- Act as the primary point of contact between management and on-site teams.
- Conduct regular inspections of work in progress and completed jobs.
- Identify deficiencies and ensure prompt corrective action.
- Inspect completed work to ensure quality and compliance
- Maintain job documentation, daily reports, and safety records.
- Identify site conditions that may affect scope, cost, or schedule and report to management.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and efficiency.
Hands-On Technical Work
- Perform industrial job duties if required, including window caulking, sealing, window installation and replacement, and related work.
- Troubleshoot on-site technical issues and provide solutions.
- Ensure workmanship meets company standards and client expectations.
HealthSafety
- Enforce strict compliance with health and safety regulations, including working at heights.
- Ensure crew use appropriate PPE and follow safe work practices.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and job hazard assessments.
- Ensure proper use, inspection, and maintenance of tools and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with site-specific safety requirements and access protocols.
Required Experience
- 5-10 years of hands-on experience in sealants, window caulking, or related trades.
- 3+ years of supervisory or lead hand role experience
- Proven technical knowledge and experience with sealant systems, window installation, and remediation.
- Strong knowledge of working at heights procedures and safety standards
- Ability to read job scopes, drawings, and work instructions
- Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
