YOUR IMPACT
The OpenText Storage Administrator will assist with general maintenance and upkeep of our global storage environment. Included in this are deploying storage changes, collaborating with vendors, maintaining storage infrastructure, ensuring performance specifications are met, and other duties as directed. This person will participate in an on-call rotation to manage production-impacting issues. The OpenText Lead Storage Administrator will report to the Senior Manager of Storage, focusing on the Corporate and Lab business.
WHAT THE ROLE OFFERS
Supporting the Operations Organization by employing systematic efforts that translate operational storage needs into configuration specifications which provide a robust, stable, and maintainable Production Storage Processing environment, meeting or exceeding all Business Requirements.
- Participating in strategic projects
- Provide oversight of the global storage footprint
- Provide storage forecasts based on usage and trending
- Keep up to date with storage manufacturers' product offerings
- Adhere to all ITIL standards and processes
- Provide Level3 expertise for break\fix issues
- Ensure accurate and non-impactful changes are implemented in the production environment by working with technical services, storage resources
WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED
- B.S. in computer science/information systems or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5-8 years progressively responsible experience in: • Primarily NetApp and EMC storage technologies, some familiarity with PURE and HP 3Par Storage Array installation, configuration, and administration would be considered an asset • Storage allocation, upgrades, and optimization standards • Storage Performance Tuning • Proactive monitoring and tools implementation • Cisco MDS and Brocade SAN switch installation, configuration, and administration • Storage management tools (NetApp BlueXP, NetApp DII, NetApp AIQUM, ECC, SE, ESRS, SCG, SMC/SPA) • Experience with NetApp HCI, NetApp AFF& FAS, EMC’s PMAX, VMAX, UNITY, VNX, Symmetrix, and Celera platforms, HP 3PAR storage, and Cisco/Brocade SAN Switches • Familiarity with VMware, Hyper-V, OpenStack is an asset • A basic understanding of system administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning of RedHat Enterprise Linux, HP-UX, Solaris& Windows Servers
- Experience with iSCSI, NFS, NAS, SAN, FC, CIFS, S3 (object)
- Exposure to Public Cloud (GCP, AWS, Azure) would be an asset along with scripting (Python, Ansible, Powershell)
- Experience using AI to develop strategies to automate workloads and processes, with a commitment to operating in a safe and secure manner to prevent the exposure of sensitive information in any public domain
