THE OPPORTUNITY We have an exciting opportunity for a Director of Finance to join a growing, multi-entity organization. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Director of Finance is responsible for the leadership and overall management of the organization’s Financial Services and Accounting functions. The role provides leadership to the Finance and Accounting team while overseeing accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, audit coordination and finance related activities across multiple entities.

The Director of Finance will play an important role in supporting organizational objectives through effective financial management, operational oversight, and participation in acquisition and integration activities.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE The ideal candidate is an experienced finance leader with a strong foundation in accounting, financial management, budgeting and audit oversight. Experience leading finance functions within complex, multi entity organizations has provided the ability to balance operational requirements with broader business objectives while maintaining a focus on accuracy, accountability and continuous improvement.
Comfortable working with senior leaders and strong personalities, this individual is capable of providing objective advice, constructive challenge and practical solutions. Success in the role requires confidence, resilience, sound judgment, executive presence and the professional maturity to communicate candidly, uphold sound financial practices and navigate complex situations with diplomacy and credibility.
RESPONSIBILITIES Financial Reporting & Accounting Lead the organization’s accounting and financial reporting functions across multiple entities. Ensure the timely and accurate preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements. Maintain effective accounting policies, controls and reporting standards. Provide financial analysis and recommendations that support business performance and operational decision making. Budgeting & Financial Planning Lead the annual budgeting process and ongoing forecasting activities. Monitor financial performance, analyze variances, and identify emerging risks and opportunities. Lead monthly operating reviews with each business unit, partnering with executive leaders to review financial performance, budget variances, forecasts, and operational results in support of effective decision making. Develop financial models and analysis to support planning, resource allocation, and organizational objectives. Audit & Financial Oversight Oversee the annual external audit process and act as the primary liaison with external auditors. Coordinate audit planning, documentation, and the resolution of audit related matters. Ensure financial policies, procedures, and controls are maintained and consistently applied. Support compliance with applicable financial reporting and regulatory requirements. Mergers, Acquisitions & Integration Support finance related activities associated with acquisitions and integrations. Assist in evaluating and integrating financial processes across acquired entities. Promote consistency in financial reporting, controls, and accounting practices across multiple entities. Systems & Process Improvement Support the implementation, optimization, and enhancement of financial systems and reporting tools. Identify and implement opportunities to improve efficiency, accuracy, and effectiveness within the finance function. Support technology and process improvement initiatives that strengthen financial management and operational effectiveness. Leadership & Stakeholder Collaboration Provide leadership, direction, and mentorship to the Finance and Accounting team. Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. Build effective working relationships with senior leaders and key stakeholders. Communicate financial information clearly, confidently and effectively to a variety of audiences.
QUALIFICATIONS Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related discipline. CPA designation required. Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in finance and accounting, including experience leading finance and accounting functions within a complex organization. Demonstrated experience overseeing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, and year end audit activities. Experience working within organizations that operate across multiple entities, business units, or corporate structures. Exposure to mergers, acquisitions, and integration activities. Experience leading and developing finance and accounting teams. Experience supporting financial systems implementations, technology-enabled process improvements, or organizational transformation initiatives is considered an asset. Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial controls, and financial management practices.

Identifies opportunities to improve processes, strengthen controls, and enhance operational effectiveness. Adapts effectively to changing priorities and organizational needs while maintaining a practical, solutions focused approach. Demonstrates integrity, accountability, and professionalism in all aspects of leadership and financial stewardship.
