Pomerleau, a Canadian leader in sustainable construction, is looking for an Insurance Advisor for a strategic national role.
Reporting to the Senior Director – Insurance and Surety, you will play a key role in shaping insurance strategy and risk mitigation for Pomerleau’s operations, with a focus on large-scale projects.

What you will do

  • Analyze tenders and contracts for large-scale projects and negotiate the best terms with project owners and insurers through brokers

  • Oversee and implement the corporate and project insurance strategy, including finding solutions to day-to-day operational challenges

  • Act as a trusted advisor and provide support to the team

  • Recommend and implement new processes

  • Provide professional advice and ongoing training

  • Maintain strong relationships with our brokers and insurers

This role could be for you if you have

  • A relevant experience within an insurance brokerage firm is considered a strong asset

  • A College diploma (DEC) in insurance advisory and/or financial services, DEC in administrative techniques with an insurance option, or an AEC in damage insurance, or any other equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 7 years of relevant work experience

  • A good knowledge of the construction industry will be considered a major asset

  • A strong sense of rigor, attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skills

  • The ability to exercise decision-making authority

  • A strong autonomy and ability to formulate recommendations

  • A real desire to work in a team with dynamic people
