As a Finance Coordinator, you will be a key liaison who provides strategic financial expertise and support to operational business units, external partners, and Corporate Finance. You will interpret financial policies, processes, and client needs with varying financial understanding. Primary duties include:
As a Finance Coordinator, you will be a key liaison who provides strategic financial expertise and support to operational business units, external partners, and Corporate Finance. You will interpret financial policies, processes, and client needs with varying financial understanding. Primary duties include:
- Communicate regularly with the business unit in order to provide financial analysis, training, professional judgment, process review, policy interpretation, and associated recommendations.
- Respond to a large volume and variety of client requests with competing deadlines.
- Review and evaluate financial processes and statements to ensure compliance with professional accounting standards, contractual, legislative obligations and corporate financial reporting requirements.
- Assist with streamlining and developing new processes to address changes in the business needs.
- Provide day to day financial systems support and work with I.T. to resolve system related issues and resolution of system errors.
- Research and analyze user reported system errors.
- Document system processes and support Finance group with system related training.
- Develop reporting and provide end-user support using the Business Intelligence Tool (Business Objects) and Query.
- Provide advice, guidance, training and coaching to Senior Financial Accountants, Junior Accountants, Senior Accountants and Capital Accountants to ensure smooth workflow and process.
- Act as Finance Lead for vacation relief.
Qualifications
- A Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation and at least 5 years of related progressive financial experience.
- Previous experience with PeopleSoft Financial Supply Chain Management (FSCM) is considered an asset.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and in data analytics is also an asset.
- Success in this position requires strong financial, analytical, and computer skills; effective communication and organizational skills; and the ability to work as a part of a team.

Workstyle
- This position may be eligible to work from home for at least part of the time as one of several flexible work options available to City employees. These arrangements depend on the operational requirements of the role, employee suitability, and are subject to change based on operational needs and corporate direction.

Compensation: Pay Grade 12 $47.01 - 62.84 per hour
Days of Work: This position typically works a 5 day
work week, with 1 day off in each 3 week cycle.
Hours of work: Standard 35-hour work week
