Status: Regular Part Time

Hours: Up to 24 hours/week

Home Campus: Fennell (fully on-site)

Rate of Pay: $24.88 per hour, plus 4% in lieu of vacation

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Manager of Testing Centres, as a professional staff member, the MTC Accommodated and External Testing Support Officer provides clerical and test administration support to the Testing Offices as well as oversees the organization and management of the testing rooms at Mohawk Testing Centres. The incumbent is also responsible for the organization of Accommodated testing within the department. This position deals with students, staff and faculty, and requires the incumbent to use tact and diplomacy in carrying out his or her day-to-day activities. The duties associated with this position will involve considerable exposure to confidential records and student information. Responsibilities also include providing procedural support to staff, students and applicants while booking and testing, overseeing proctoring and administering tests to groups, learners, applicants and students while ensuring an appropriate atmosphere for testing. The support staff is also responsible for following Mohawk Testing Centre's testing policy as required by faculty and staff.

What you'll be doing:

  • Oversees all aspects of Accommodated testing and inquiries from faculty, staff and students including, but not limited to: booking Accommodated appointments, preparing student test paperwork, inputting profiles into the appropriate systems, extracting test booking information from Symplicity Accommodate, collaborating with faculty and students to ensure test information is accurate.
  • Troubleshooting various testing issues that occur with in-person and virtual testing in and by the Mohawk Testing Centre for both staff and students. Development or adjustment of process to resolve these problems.
  • Proctor and oversee proctoring of tests for students or external individual in either a virtual or in-person setting.
  • Inputting data into and maintaining various systems including custom databases, in accordance with the established procedures to ensure data is easily accessible and retrievable; Scheduling and confirming Testing appointments, inputting and updating daily statistics.
  • Assisting with the preparation, administration and completing follow-up procedures for: accommodated testing, missed and makeup testing, pre and post admission assessments.
  • Overseeing the Testing Room when proctoring assessments and tests to:

o Ensure academic honesty

o Maintain a secure atmosphere for testing

o Maintain confidentiality and security of all test materials and other test documents

o Ensure the fair and proper conduct in the testing environment that enables a student to perform at their best

Other duties as assigned.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • A 3-year diploma/degree in Office Admin or a related discipline.
  • Strong conflict resolution skills.
  • A minimum of 3 years of related office experience and working with students with disabilities.
  • Demonstrated commitment and understanding of human rights, equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility.
  • The ability to communicate and work effectively with diverse students, employees, and communities.
