Job Description & Requirements

GRADE 1 0.500-FTE
We are seeking a qualified teacher who must possess:
- A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate, or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.
- A strong academic background and previous successful early years teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability to teach and differentiate instruction in the Grade 1 classroom.
- Demonstrated ability/experience in the teaching of reading in early years.
- Knowledge and understanding of teaching literacy through the curriculum, and a strong background in language development.
- Knowledge and understanding of inclusion of technology in learning processes.
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work as an effective member of a team in delivering a quality program.
Preference will be given to candidates who possess:
- Experience in the philosophy of a multi-age classroom as it relates to curriculum planning and implementation, instructional diversity, and classroom learning environment.
- Reading Recovery trained.
READING RECOVERY 0.500-FTE
We are seeking a qualified Reading Recovery Teacher who must possess:
- A Manitoba Teacher's Certificate, or eligibility for teacher certification in the Province of Manitoba.
- Demonstrated knowledge of and experience in early literacy development.
- A willingness to study and participate in ongoing professional learning in literacy development.
- Minimum of five years of demonstrated successful classroom teaching experience.
- Demonstrated ability and experience in the differentiation of instruction to meet the needs of all learners.
- Knowledge and understanding of teaching literacy through the curriculum and a strong background in language development.
- Knowledge and understanding of inclusion of technology in learning processes.
- Experience in the philosophy of a multi-age classroom as it relates to curriculum planning and implementation, instructional diversity, and classroom learning environment.
