Team Manager
The Team Manager is responsible for leading, developing, and managing a diverse group of project managers and consultants delivering high-quality services to Axsium’s clients. This role balances team management with hands-on client project delivery and business development activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development
- Manage, coach and motivate a team of project managers, consultants, specialists, and architects, inspiring and empowering them to achieve their best and exemplify Axsium’s values.
- Conduct regular performance evaluations, solicit performance feedback from colleagues, lead performance management discussions, and set clear goals and expectations with team members.
- Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture that promotes engagement and innovation.
- Manage onboarding, training, and ongoing development for all team members.
- Lead regular team and individual meetings, providing clear communication on organizational goals, priorities, and changes.
- Address team concerns or conflicts promptly and constructively to maintain a positive work environment.
- Act as a team advocate to the leadership team, proactively generating awareness and support for actual or potential team issues or concerns.
- Maximize team productivity by ensuring time is accurately reported and by collaborating with resource management to optimize staffing across projects.
- Assist in the hiring process by interviewing candidates and providing hiring recommendations.
Project Delivery and Client Engagement
- Achieve billable hours target by contributing to client projects in a variety of ways that may include account oversight, project management, or subject matter expertise as required by the needs of the project.
- Provide direct guidance and support to team members on project delivery, methodology, and service quality.
- Identify and mitigate delivery risks and issues and implement strategies to achieve successful client outcomes.
Business Development and Sales Support
- Collaborate with Sales Executive to identify and pursue opportunities to expand services within existing accounts.
- Participate in sales pursuits with new clients at the request of a Delivery Director.
- Support the development of proposals, statements of work (SOWs), and pricing strategies for new and existing clients.
- Participate in client presentations, solutioning workshops, and contract negotiations as a delivery subject matter expert.
Delivery Team Leadership
- Collaborate with Global Delivery Leadership on initiatives and other programs to improve the organization and culture.
- Recognise process improvement opportunities and help develop best practices for future projects.
Qualifications
- 6+ years of experience in consulting, with a minimum of 2 years in a management or team leadership role, preferably in the workforce management (WFM), human capital management (HCM) or similar industry.
- Strong leadership and team management skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Exemplifies Axsium’s core values of commitment, collaboration, courage, and curiosity.
- Thrives in a small, high-growth and entrepreneurial consulting environment.
- Ability to travel as needed.
- Knowledge of UKG Pro WFM, UKG Ready, or Infor WFM is a plus.
- Experience with project financial management is a plus.
