Job Description:
Reporting to the AVP, FCRM Technology Operational Support, the Business Management Specialist – Issues Management Support supports the AVP in the collation of Issues Management and establishing strong governance on FCRM Monitoring Coverage and Capabilities - Canada (FCRM MCC) owned and impacting issues.
Responsibilities
- Support FRCM MCC teams with the issues management system and issues management related activities and provide guidance, including the development of tools and training as needed.
- Lead the maintenance and implementation of the FCRM MCC Self-Identified issues management procedures, ensuring adherence and alignment to enterprise requirements.
- Influence issue owners and stakeholders to meet remediation commitments through clear expectations, constructive challenge, and outcome-based tracking
- Facilitate key discussions and provide thought leadership to executive audience in discussions pertaining to issues management processes and/or the issues management system.
- Prepare and/or review issues management related reporting for various stakeholders and committees (e.g., audit, 1B FCRM etc)
- Develop as a subject matter expert on FCRM operations and technology to keep abreast of their issues and escalate, as necessary.
- Contribute to the strategic direction of the Issues Management team and play a key role in the development and implementation of strategies in support the overall
- Assist with developing and implementing executive and senior management reporting, as required.
- Perform review of Self-identified audit issues action plans or validation of issues for FCRM.
- Support internal audits of FCRM MCC teams.
- Represent team as required, to provide guidance and support on issues management and other areas as applicable.
- Identify and recommend opportunities to enhance productivity, effectiveness and operational efficiency
- Responsible for maintaining updates to applicable policies, procedures, frameworks, and methodologies as applicable within the team.
- Perform ad hoc analysis and participate in regulatory initiatives, special projects, or other activities as assigned.
Qualifications/Skills
- Undergraduate degree and 7+ years relevant industry experience.
- Experience in risk management, governance, AML/Compliance, and issues management.
- Financial services industry experience would be beneficial.
- Working knowledge of AML/ATF legal and regulatory environment considered as asset.
- Strong ability to synthesize information, distill and communicate complex information, adapting to the needs of the executive audience.
- Ability to influence others' actions and decisions without express authority.
- Skills in creating appropriate analysis and reporting, with attention to detail.
- Strong ability to apply critical thinking and to exercise sound judgement in making decisions and escalating as appropriate.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience preparing reporting to senior executive audiences.
- Demonstrated relationship building with a superior ability to make things happen through use of impact and influence and by nurturing key relationships.
- Effective stakeholder and partner engagement with a professional approach; ability to interact with all levels within the organization.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple deadlines and priorities.
- Ability to manage confidential information with discretion.
- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently.
- Proficient with computer applications including Microsoft Office tools (e.g., Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Project).
- Promote positive and collaborative team environment and bring an important level of enthusiasm to the team.
