About the role

SUMMARY:
Nepean Housing Corporation is seeking a detail-oriented and customer-focused Tenant Accounts Coordinator. In this role, you’ll be responsible for rental and maintenance arrears collection, tenant account management, and providing support across the tenant services team. The ideal candidate is organized, comfortable working independently in a fast-paced environment, and committed to delivering excellent service in a housing-focused non-profit.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor, prepare, and follow up on rental and maintenance arrears
  • Draft and authorize repayment agreements
  • Prepare and process Residential Tenancies Act (RTA) documentation
  • Prepare rent schedules and perform rent reconciliations
  • Liaise with tenants, financial support services, collection agencies, and legal representatives
  • Attend Landlord Tenant Board (LTB) hearings and support enforcement as required
  • Input and reconcile tenant charges and payments in Yardi software
  • Prepare reporting for management and the Board
  • Offer backup support to Tenant Rental and Relations Coordinators

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum high school diploma; Office Administration Certificate preferred
  • 3+ years of office experience with accounts receivable and client service
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Knowledge of RTA, HSA, and Yardi an asset
  • Valid driver’s licence and access to a vehicle an asset
  • Criminal reference check required

WORK HOURS:

  • 35 hours per week (Monday to Friday, 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM)
  • 1 hour lunch break between 12:00-1:15 PM (unpaid)

WORK LOCATION:
This position is primarily based at our main office at 16 Kilbarron Road. It also involves travel to various locations in the West End of Ottawa. Mileage for work-related travel will be reimbursed, along with any increase in car insurance premium related to using your vehicle for work.

Additional Information:

  • Probationary Period: Six-month probation before becoming a permanent employee, if applicable

  • Vacation: Two weeks to start, with increased entitlement over time

  • Pension & Benefits: Full membership in OMERS pension plan (with employer matching), plus extended health, dental, life, and disability benefits after three months

  • Union: This role is unionized under CUPE Local 4473.
