Strategic Projects and Initiatives Analyst – CCO Office will support the Principal, Strategic Initiatives and Projects – CCO Office in providing strategic analysis and execution support across a number of high-impact initiatives and cross-functional priorities within the Commercial organization. The Analyst supports preparation of analysis, materials, and follow‑through required to advance the Chief Commercial Officer’s priorities, and is expected to support work across Sales, Revenue Management, Network Planning, Brand, Marketing, Cargo, Air Canada Vacations, International Affairs and Partnerships.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Analysis Support
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis to support commercial initiatives.
- Prepare research, benchmarking, financial analysis, and scenario inputs.
- Support development of business‑case inputs under guidance.
- Prepare initial drafts of executive-level briefings, board materials, and strategic communications.
Operational Excellence
- Support the execution of key projects and tasks to facilitate the efficient management of the Commercial branch
- Maintain trackers and initiative status updates, identifying and flagging risks to the Principal as required
- Ensure timely follow-up and execution of decisions made by the CCO and commercial leadership team.
Cross -Functional Coordination
- Act as a working level coordinator between the CCO Office and internal / external stakeholders
- Gather and consolidate inputs, align timelines, and facilitate discussions across functions and branches
- Support relationship management with partners, alliances, and industry bodies.
Data-Driven Insights
- Collaborate with Commercial Insights and Finance teams to monitor commercial KPIs and identify opportunities for growth.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis where required.
- Support the development of business cases for new initiatives, partnerships, or investments.
Leadership & Collaboration
- Collaborate with Revenue Management, Sales, Regulatory, Network Planning, Partnerships, RM, Cargo, Finance, Legal, Operations, and other departments to ensure enterprise-wide alignment.
- Support and/or lead special and/or cross-functional projects where required
Qualifications
- 1-2+ years experience in airline commercial functions, strategy, finance, consulting, accounting or operations.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, economics, airline management, or another relevant field
- MBA, equivalent advanced degree or industry qualification is an asset.
- Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated interest in the airline industry, with basic understanding of airline economics, customer segmentation, and revenue optimization
- Proven ability to work and deliver both individually and as part of a team
- Experience working in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., PowerPoint, Excel). Knowledge of SQL, python or other analytical coding languages is an asset.
- Familiarity with airline systems (PSS, RM, CRM, Sabre AirVision, Lufthansa Systems, etc.) and commercial data sources is an asset.
- Ability to leverage emerging technologies and digital tools.
- High emotional intelligence, discretion, and executive presence.
- Willingness and ability to travel internationally (estimated at 30%) including extended hours and overnight assignments.
- Demonstrate punctuality and dependability to support overall team success in a fast-paced environment.
