This position provides opportunities to perform planning, delivery and evaluation of diverse and inclusive sport, culture and recreation activities as well as preparing facilities, set up and take down of equipment, and supervising the facility for scheduled bookings, programs, and special events within the Parks, Recreation & Cultural Services Department for various branches which include:

  • Community & Cultural Development
  • Community & Recreation Programs
  • Sports Facilities & Special Events
  • Planning & Partnerships

This position may require working non-standard hours, including weekends depending on operational and programming needs.

All candidates must possess the following:

  • Canadian Red Cross Standard First Aid & CPR Level ‘C’ or St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid & CPR Level ‘C’
  • Self-starter and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to plan, organize, schedule, instruct and evaluate program activities
  • A proactive team member that contributes to a positive work environment
  • Exercise initiative and good judgment when completing work assignments
  • Proven customer service skills
  • Ability to be a positive role model for children & youth
  • Be dependable and reliable
  • Must have the means to travel within the City

Preference will be given to those candidates who have successfully completed one (1) year post- secondary education in Kinesiology, Education, or a related discipline from a recognized post- secondary institution.

Community & Cultural Development Job Duties: This branch consists of positions that plan, lead, instruct and evaluate diverse and inclusive sport, culture and recreation activities for children and youth. Program plans, weekly activity schedules, and attendance reports are also required. The typical programs include: PlayEscapes, RECreate YQR (afterschool program) and MyTime.

Pay Rate: $17.78 per hour; however, depending upon operational or programming needs, there may be work assignments that will lead to a higher rate of pay of up to $23.30 per hour.

Community & Recreation Programs Job Duties: This branch consists of positions that prepare facilities, setup & take down equipment, monitoring of the building and supervising the facility for scheduled bookings, programs and special events. General cleaning duties for safe and efficient operation of equipment, programs and facilities is also required. Typical facilities include: Fieldhouse, South Leisure Centre, Cathedral Neighbourhood Center, Glencairn Neighbourhood Centre and Core Ritchie Neighbourhood Centre.

Pay Rate: $17.78 per hour; however, depending upon operational needs, there may be work assignments that will lead to a higher rate of pay of up to $19.02 per hour.

Sports Facilities & Special Events Job Duties: This branch consists of positions that prepare facilities, setup & take down equipment, monitoring of the building and supervising the facility for scheduled bookings, programs and special events. General cleaning duties for safe and efficient operation of equipment, programs and facilities is also required. Typical facilities include: all City operated arenas, Canada Games Complex and Leibel Field.

Pay Rate: $17.78 per hour; however, depending upon operational needs, there may be work assignments that will lead to a higher rate of pay of up to $19.02 per hour.

Additional Requirements:

  • Successful candidates may be required to provide a satisfactory criminal record check per the City of Regina's Criminal Record Check Policy.
  • Proof of education is required.
  • Additional assessments may be conducted to evaluate competencies, skills, and knowledge.
