Civil Superintendent – Residential Properties
About the role
Seymour Pacific Developments is looking for a Civil Superintendent to support project operations throughout Vancouver Island. The Civil Superintendent is responsible for the start and completion of all civil works on multi-building, multi-family, residential construction sites. Your contributions to the team:
- Understand construction drawings and the scope of the tasks required
- Can establish and follow committed scheduling
- Follow established direction and coordinate site activities
- Work on a congested site with other trades
- Follow, plans and specifications and implement a quality control site-based program
- Uphold and enforce company safety regulations, policies and procedures
- Handle multiple crews simultaneously, while giving direction and training
What you need to be successful:
- Minimum 5 years’ civil construction experience in a leadership role
- Residential and commercial construction experience
- Understanding of methodology and terminology in the civil construction industry
- Experience supervising a construction crew
- Ability to operate all types of heavy equipment in a safe and productive manner
- Proven ability to read and interpret blueprints and other construction drawings
- Ability to direct survey crew and have a complete understanding of stakes and grades
- Ability to set up lines and grades with lasers or a construction level
- Working experience in earthworks and utility installation inspections
- Experience using MS Office Suite and construction related software
- Must be able to delegate tasks and responsibilities to the crew
- Knowledge of civil construction and utilities is required
