This role supports the Canadian Personal & Business Banking First Line of Defense to drive stronger fraud risk mitigation controls, create and enhance fraud detection and prevention for lending processes.
Uses decision support tools (SAS/SQL/Power BI) to mine and analyze large sets of structured and unstructured data to obtain insights, improve customer experience, and drive productivity. Collaborates with other data and analytics professionals and teams to optimize, refine and scale analysis into mature analytics solutions.
Responsibilities
- Provide insights to improve lending process and enhance customer journey based on decision support tools (SAS/SQL).
- Monitor consumer trends, address business problems, and provide data-driven recommendations to senior leadership and cross-functional stakeholders.
- Build and maintain fraud dashboards using Power BI.
- Collaborate with the product team and partners to understand and provide data driven decision making, business planning and future roadmap.
- Support regulatory and audit reviews as needed.
- Works independently and regularly handles non-routine situations.
- Broader work or accountabilities may be assigned as needed.
Qualifications:
- In-depth knowledge of SAS and SQL or any other programming languages
- 3+ years of experience in financial services with similar analytics functions
- Post-secondary degree in a quantitative field (mathematics, statistics, computer science)
- Strong problem solving skills with ability to manage multiple initiatives in a fast-paced environment
- Strong verbal & written communication skills with ability to present to non-technical audiences
- Personal lending and RESL product knowledge are strong assets
- Power BI is an asset
- Power Automate is an asset
Salary:
$69,000.00 - $129,000.00

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
BMO Financial Group’s total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
