About the role

The hourly wage rate for this position is $23 . Final compensation will be determined based on relevant skills, experience, qualifications, and internal equity. Food Service Supervisor – KLM Lounge

The Food Service Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily food and beverage operations within the KLM Lounge, ensuring exceptional service standards and a premium guest experience for airline passengers. This role involves supervising lounge staff, coordinating daily activities, monitoring food preparation and presentation, and maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. The supervisor serves as a key point of contact for staff and guests, ensuring that all services are delivered efficiently and in accordance with company policies, food safety regulations, and hospitality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and support food service attendants, bartenders, and lounge staff during daily operations. Coordinate staff schedules, assign duties, and ensure adequate staffing levels throughout shifts. Monitor food and beverage service to maintain quality, freshness, presentation, and compliance with company standards. Ensure excellent customer service by addressing guest inquiries, special requests, and service concerns professionally and promptly. Conduct regular inspections of food service areas, dining spaces, storage facilities, and equipment to ensure cleanliness and compliance with health and safety regulations. Train, mentor, and evaluate employees on service standards, workplace procedures, and food safety practices. Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies, receiving deliveries, monitoring stock levels, and minimizing waste. Ensure compliance with food handling regulations, sanitation standards, workplace safety requirements, and airport security procedures. Prepare operational reports, maintain records, and communicate effectively with management regarding daily performance and operational needs. Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance guest satisfaction and operational efficiency.

Qualifications And Skills

Previous experience in food service, hospitality, catering, or lounge operations. Experience supervising or leading a team in a hospitality environment. Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining high service standards. Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety regulations. Ability to work flexible shifts, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Proficiency in basic computer applications and operational reporting.

Working Conditions

Fast-paced airport lounge environment serving international travelers. Standing and walking for extended periods. Ability to lift and move supplies and inventory as required. Interaction with diverse guests and team members from various cultural backgrounds.
