Supportive Housing Security Supervisor
Job Duties:
- Understand and proactively enforce community rules and regulations with a courteous and respectful attitude when interacting with the public.
- Provide direction, motivation, and ongoing training to the security team by maintaining open communication and leading by example.
- Deliver documented, constructive feedback and coaching to officers on-site; feedback to be reviewed by the Client Service Manager.
- Ensure all officers complete an orientation checklist by the end of their training, including the site orientation sheet, OH&S sheet, and post order review.
- Ensure all standing post orders, TrackTik chip placements, and scheduled daily activities are being properly performed and followed by the security team.
- Regularly maintain and update key site documents such as post orders, orientation sheets, and training materials.
- Design and implement creative strategies to motivate staff daily, promoting high performance and a positive work environment.
- Recognize and acknowledge exceptional performance by Security Officers with appropriate accolades.
- Participate in progressive disciplinary meetings with Security Officers and the Client Service Manager, as required.
- Ensure memos and documents are regularly signed off by the security team, hold team members accountable, and escalate issues as necessary.
- Assist in the investigation of security incidents and report relevant information through the proper chain of command (e.g., Supervisor and SPM) for follow-up with external stakeholders.
- Attend monthly site meetings with the Client Service Manager to provide updates on the security program and day-to-day operations.
- Maintain ongoing communication with the client regarding the security program, and provide written updates to the Client Service Manager when new procedures or concerns are discussed.
Position Requirements:
- Superior written and verbal communication skills.
- Minimum of one year of experience in security.
- Proven punctuality, reliability, and professionalism, including tact and diplomacy in all interactions.
- Completion of additional security-related training, including Paladin-provided online courses.
- Valid OFA Level 1 and MOAB certifications, or willingness to complete within one month of hire.
- Authorized to work in Canada.
