SUMMARY
The Pipefitter Apprentice is involved in the Fabrication of Pipe spools from 4"-30"
Start: ASAP
Location: Edmonton, AB Fabrication Shop
Shift: Night Shift, Mon-Thurs, 10-hour nights
Hourly Rate: $34.71 (Inclusive of employer contributions for vacation/statutory, health and welfare, RSP, RSP matching, and education and training)
Night Shift Premium: Additional $3.00/hr (included in hourly rate)
JOB DUTIES
- Comply with Company and Client Safety rules, as well as OH&S standards
- Fit pipe using shop control drawings (acorn)
- Fabrication experience is an asset
- Tack weld fitting components
- Prepping/grinding factory beveled pipe ends
- Utilize elbow jigs and external clamps whenever possible
- Attend required safety and tailgate/toolbox meetings
- May perform other duties as assigned such as operating skid steer
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must be an Alberta registered apprentice (or hold an apprenticeship or journeyman certificate recognized by AIT)
- CSTS-09 and/or CSTS-20
- Tacking & Fabrication Shop experience is considered an asset
- Shop hydro experience is considered an asset
- Able to work well in a team environment
- Must be physically able to lift 50lbs and climb in/under units in the field
- Organized and self-motivated
- Pipefitters with bench fab shop experience is essential w/tacking experience, experienced apprentice is OK
- Confined Space ticket an asset
- Overhead Crane and Rigging ticket an asset
