#Culinary Worker (Service and Supply Courier)

**Primary Purpose:**To assemble transport and deliver food, beverages and other supplies to various locations across campus.

**Nature of Work :**Reporting to the Catering Operations Coordinator, the incumbent will coordinate their own work schedule around routine cafeteria needs and anticipated and unanticipated catering contract orders. Demonstrated excellent driving skills and required as well as a good knowledge of the layout of campus and the ability to work in a high-volume setting. The incumbent is expected to work cooperatively with other staff to ensure seamless customer service, which includes but is not limited to covering sick and vacation time. This individual will treat all confidential information and materials in a confidential manner, handle monetary, and cash transactions honestly and accurately. It is expected that the incumbent will communicate issues of importance or concern to the immediate supervisor in a timely manner. Collaborates with others as required to complete assignments and support team efforts. Works to resolve conflicts and maintain harmony among coworkers. Effectively manages assigned projects as directed. Sets priorities for own work and meets deadlines. This individual will comply with all relevant legislation, regulations, policies and procedures and will exercise judgement in the application thereof. Participate as an active and supportive member of the Culinary Services group. Other duties will be assigned and helping out with serving or bartending at catering functions may be required occasionally.

The incumbent is accountable to the Consumer Services Team Charter and is aligned with its purpose, vision, and values, holding themselves and each other accountable to these guiding principles.

**Typical Duties or Accountabilities:**Deliver food, beverages or other supplies to the retail locations and various locations across campus; provide accurate delivery of exact catered items; perform delivery and pick-up activities beyond the campus, as required; may verify money/payments; complete thermos pick-ups from various locations across campus; maintain regular communication with management and food service staff; and perform other related duties that may be required in the capacity of a catering culinary worker.

**Education:**Completion of Grade 12. Must hold and maintain a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. A current Food Safe Handler’s Certificate would be considered an asset and must be completed within the first months of starting.

**Experience:**Experience driving a cargo van, a good knowledge of the layout of campus and/or working in an institutional food service organization would be an asset.

**Skills:**Effective communication and organizational skills: ability to work in a high volume setting, physical ability to lift 30-60 lbs.; and the demonstrated ability to interpret catering contracts, organize time and prioritize.
