Our Buildings team is actively involved in healthcare, post-secondary, municipal, infrastructure, and commercial developments across the region.Joining our team in Grande Prairie provides a unique opportunity to work on impactful regional projects while contributing to the growth of a local engineering team supported by the technical expertise of CIMA+ offices across Canada.CIMA+ is seeking an Intermediate Electrical Engineer to join our Buildings team in Grande Prairie. In this role, you will contribute to the design and delivery of electrical systems for a wide variety of building projects across Northern Alberta. You will work closely with engineers, technologists, and other disciplines to deliver high-quality engineering solutions while supporting the continued growth of CIMA+’s local presence in the region.This role offers a balance of technical design, project coordination, and field engagement, including site visits and construction support for projects throughout Northern Alberta. You will have the opportunity to take part in our hybrid work model that includes flexible work hours, working from home and in our Grande Prairie AB office. Primary ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop electrical systems for buildings including lighting, power distribution, communications, security, and fire alarm systemsPrepare electrical designs, drawings, and models using Revit and AutoCADPerform electrical design calculations and assist with equipment selection and system layoutsCoordinate electrical designs with architectural, mechanical, and structural disciplinesConduct site visits and field investigations to review existing conditions and support construction activitiesParticipate in project meetings and collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teamsSupport proposal preparation and contribute to project planning activitiesContinued professional development through participation in internal and external learning opportunitiesAssist in mentoring junior staff and contributing to the development of the local engineering team Directly engage with clients to understand project needs and maintain strong business relationshipsContribute to the continued growth of the Grande Prairie Buildings practiceQualificationsEligible for membership with APEGA – P.Eng. or P.L.Eng.Over 6 years' experience in electrical engineering in the buildings sector Demonstrate a commitment to client service that is second to noneWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and Revit is requiredValid Canadian drivers licence with access to transportation for site reviews and inspections Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) in the English languageExperience mentoring junior technical staff is an assetWhy choose CIMA+ Because we offer you:    Comprehensive Group Benefits available from day one for all permanent employees working at least 20 hours per week  Employee and Family Assistance Program  Retirement Savings Plan (RRSP) with up to 4% employer contribution  As an employee-owned company, an annual opportunity to purchase shares for all employees  Flexible work schedule in a hybrid work mode   Work/Life balance policy across Canada  3-5 weeks of vacation, based on years of relevant experience  Tailored training to improve your existing skills Additional InformationAt CIMA+, we recognize the richness and diversity of each individual’s experience.
