Your Opportunity:

If you are an experienced LPN who likes small town living, this position in Bashaw might be for you! In this position you are an integral member of a small Home Care office that focusses on the delivery excellent client and family centered care. Bashaw Home and Community Care offers services from a variety of health disciplines; including nursing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and access to a dietician. The goal is to provide an individualized experience for each client. As members of the multidisciplinary health care team, Licensed Practical Nurse’s working within their scope of practice, collaborate on the delivery of care to meet the needs of clients. LPN’s assist with the provision of nursing care to individuals in all developmental stages, contribute to the nursing diagnosis, and participate in nursing interventions and outcomes. Strong critical thinking and assessment skills are necessary in this position. Bashaw is situated less than 100 km from Camrose, just north of the beautiful Battle River valley, between Stettler and Camrose. Our town is a quiet family-oriented with a strong mix of all age groups. Bashaw offers a K-12 school, restaurants, grocery store and a community centre. Description:

As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you are part of an interprofessional health care team, utilizing nursing processes, critical thinking, problem solving, and decision making skills. You will be guided by your education, experience, and demonstrated skill level, in alignment with applicable legislation, standards of practice, policies, and procedures. You will play a key role in providing safe, high quality, patient and family centred care while reflecting the shared vision and values of the organization.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited practical nurse education program. Active or eligible for registration and a practice permit as a Licensed Practical Nurse with the College of LPNs and HCAs of Alberta (CLHA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum three (3) years community nursing experience, combination of education and nursing experience equivilency may be considered. Physically able to perform all assigned tasks and may involve physical exertion not limited to climbing stairs, walking outside, lifting, pulling, pushing, stooping, and carrying which may involve visits to client homes that are not ideal.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Connect Care, Care Manager, Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
