CBI Home Health is looking to hire Personal Support Worker in Hamilton - 6 month guaranteed hours contract for below travel region:
Travel region 4 - East Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Winona (Postal codes starting with L8E)
Salary Range: The salary range for this position is $22.22 – $23.91 per hour.
Vacancy Disclosure: This job posting is for an existing vacancy with guaranteed hours for a period of 6-months. Incumbent should commit to full 6 month assignment.
Job Rotations:
Morning Rotation #1: East Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Winona (Postal codes starting with L8E)
Week 1: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday (7:00 AM – 12:00 PM), with Wednesday to Friday off
Week 2: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (7:00 AM – 12:00 PM), with Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday off
Evening Rotation #2: East Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Winona (Postal codes starting with L8E)
Week 1: Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday (5:00 PM – 10:00 PM) with Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday off
Week 2: Monday, Tuesday, Saturday, and Sunday (5:00 PM – 10:00 PM) with Wednesday to Friday off

What you will do
- You will support clients to be as safe and independent in their homes as possible
- You will provide personal care to clients in their home, and may assist them to mobilize and perform light exercises.
- You will act at all times with the client and their family at the heart of all you do, observing, documenting, and reporting any changes in their condition to your Manager/Supervisor.
- You may be required to perform light housekeeping tasks as indicated in client care plans.
What you will need to be successful
- Your Personal Support Worker Certificate or equivalent
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification, Level C
- A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 12 months
- Proof of a negative TB test within the last 12 months and an up-to-date immunization record
- Ability to travel from home to home within the community
- Ability to assist with two-person client transfers involving individuals with varying levels of mobility and complexity.
- Availability to work all scheduled days and times within the assignment.
- The individual who holds this rotation has the option to provide additional availability outside of this assignment to complete additional client visits if they wish, provided such work is available.
- Commitment to the full 6-month assignment
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills required; the ability to communicate in French or other languages is considered an asset
- Reliability and strong organization skills
- Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs. (16 kg) on a consistent basis throughout the workday.
- Flexibility to complete to same-day, last-minute book-offs within the designated geographic areas and hours of work of this assignment.
- Access to a reliable personal vehicle is required.
- Willingness to complete required training, including (but may not be limited to) Safe Patient Handling.
