Business Address: 4075 106 St #100, Edmonton, AB T6J 7H3, Canada Term of Employment: Permanent, Full-Time (35 hours per week), Monday to Friday Number of Available Positions: 1 Start Date: As soon as possible Company Information Alberta Cardiology Medical Consultants Inc., a respected multispecialty practice in Edmonton, is seeking a passionate Cardiologist to join their dynamic team. This fully ambulatory practice operates solely as an outpatient clinic and is open on weekdays only. The clinic environment is designed to foster meaningful patient relationships and professional autonomy, allowing the physician to take a personalized approach to care in an environment designed for professional excellence and personal well-being. Alberta Cardiology Medical Consultants Inc. prides themselves in maintaining a professional, collegial setting equipped with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies such as cardiovascular diagnostic services, including Myocardial Perfusion Imaging, Echocardiograms, Carotid Ultrasound, Exercise Stress Testing, Holter Monitoring and Electrocardiograms (ECG). Job Duties Diagnosis and Assessment: Conduct comprehensive cardiovascular evaluations, interpret diagnostic tests and diagnose patients. Patient Management: Develop, oversee and implement individualized treatment plans, including prescribing medication and lifestyle counseling, and referring patients for surgery where required. Collaborative Care: Work closely with, and act as consultant to, internists, cardiac technicians, referring family physicians, and specialists to ensure integrated patient care. Patient Education: Empower patients and families with knowledge about heart health, risk factors, treatment options, and preventive strategies. Quality Assurance: Participate in clinic quality improvement initiatives and uphold clinical safety standards. Professional Development: Stay current with advances in cardiovascular medicine through studying the nature, cause and development of diseases and participating in ongoing education and collaboration. Employment Requirements Education MD with Internal Medicine certification and fellowship certification in Cardiology. Certification from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC) and Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Exam (MCCQE) Part 1, or a complete set of United States Medical Licensing Examinations (USMLE), is preferred. Physicians with training from a College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta (CPSA) approved jurisdiction or Physicians with Royal College Practice Eligibility Route (PER) eligibility and MCCQE1 exam or equivalency, will also be considered. Licensing Licensing, or eligibility for licensing, by the provincial or territorial licensing authority (College of Physicians & Surgeons of Alberta) is required. Experience No Attending Physician experience is necessary, though candidates with experience are preferred. Language English language ability. Skills Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Efficient interpersonal skills. Benefits Alberta Health Services (AHS) sponsored position. Supervision available. No hospital duties, no statutory holiday work and no weekend work. A repayable loan for reasonable relocation expenses is available.
