Title:
Superintendent- Construction- Woodstock, ON

What you will be doing:
The Superintendent will be overseeing and supervising the construction of high-rise and/or commercial projects. This role involves providing leadership and professionalism to the site team, owners, consultants, and trades, ensuring that the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.

Site Supervision and Construction Management:

  • Providing overall on-site management and technical direction on the construction project site.
  • Enforcing company and project policies, ensuring the project is constructed in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
  • Providing input on staffing starts-finish (direct reports and hourly) and division 1 budgets.
  • Having general knowledge of and providing input on division forecasting. Liaising with Project Manager.
  • Providing input and having ownership of monthly reporting sections to client.
  • Leading the project site team; overseeing all on-site construction activities daily.
  • Assisting with the selection of trades.
  • Reviewing and providing input on scopes of work for all trades.
  • Maintaining MS Project Schedule in conjunction with Project Manager, updating at a minimum, on a monthly basis.
  • Taking the lead on productivity issues and monitoring work performance and efficiency of employees and subcontractors to ensure project plans and schedules are followed and the project is executed effectively and within budget.
  • Establishing and maintaining the development of a construction plan and managing subcontractor activities.
  • Conducting weekly meetings with subtrades, ensuring accurate minutes and timely resolution of outstanding items.
  • Participating in owner and consultant meetings parallel to Project Manager.
  • Reviewing and approving laborer timesheets and verifying subtrade work on a Time and Material basis.
  • Assuring construction compliance with design requirements, project materials, and workmanship meet the project/ Company quality standards.
  • Supervising and coordinating field engineering and construction activities.
  • Planning and preparing schedules.
  • Purchasing, tracking, and forecasting materials. Ensuring accuracy of procurement logs.
  • Providing cost-effective solutions in coordination with the Project Manager of the site.
  • Ensuring compliance with project construction schedules and budgets, and overseeing project commissioning.
  • Implementing and monitoring the project occupancy plan, including partials, aligned with the Project Manager.
  • Advising senior management, Clients and Consultants of potential problems, work interferences, or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts.
  • Reporting on the progress of the project to all stakeholders.
  • Liaising with City officials to arrange for required permitting and monitoring.
  • Overseeing the filing and administrative components onsite to ensure the team is documenting, logging, and filing appropriately.
  • Working cohesively and jointly with the Project Manager pursuing project success.
  • Pre-planning of the site teams exit plan upon project completion. Ensuring timeliness departure of people and materials. Reporting accordingly.
  • Other duties, as required.

Health and Safety:

  • Acting as the safety ambassador, ensuring alignment with safety culture and documentation.
  • Implementing the company's Safety Program to create a safe work environment and adhering to safety and record-keeping requirements.
  • Completing daily summary reports, including health and safety details, employee attendance, and daily progress with relevant photos.
  • Holding weekly toolbox talks with the site team.

Talent Management:

  • Coaching and developing direct reports and the site team.
  • Conducting performance assessments and providing feedback on a quarterly basis with direct reports.

What you will bring:

  • Educational and experience requirements include a Construction-related University Degree or equivalent combinations of technical training and/or related experience.
  • A minimum of 5 years of construction high-rise experience.
  • Proven leadership ability.
  • Construction experience leading a team on projects valued over $100 Million.
  • Strong knowledge of structural drawings.
  • Solution based provider for predicted problems before they develop.
  • Advanced knowledge of various construction disciplines, safety regulations, scheduling, cost control, quality control, engineering drawings, and other documents.
  • Knowledge of Tarion and B19 requirements and guidelines.
  • Proven ability to achieve “building occupancy” with city officials.
  • Ability to assume responsibility, interface, and clearly communicate with others.
  • Enthusiasm for challenges and new initiatives.

Pay Transparency:
The estimated salary range for this role is $160,000- $200,000.

The posted salary range reflects the expected base pay for this role. Actual compensation will depend on job-related skills, experience, and qualifications. SKYGRiD is committed to pay equity and transparency, and further details will be shared during the hiring process.

Location:
Woodstock, ON

Travelling will be required to job site. Having a vehicle would be beneficial.
