Senior Electrical Engineer Building Design & Engineering | Vancouver, BC

Your New Role As a Senior Electrical Engineer, you will play a key role in the delivery of complex building projects while working within a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment. Reporting to senior leadership, you will lead the design and coordination of building electrical systems, mentor junior team members, and provide technical leadership throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include: Leading the design of electrical building systems including power distribution, lighting, life safety, and communication systems. Coordinating design development, working drawings, and specifications with internal project teams. Conducting field reviews and building condition assessments. Providing contract administration support, including RFI responses, site instructions, and change order reviews. Managing technical coordination with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction. Identifying opportunities to improve design standards, project efficiency, and overall project quality. Preparing technical reports, assessments, and engineering documentation. Overseeing project closeout activities related to electrical engineering scope. Mentoring and supporting Engineers-in-Training (EITs), designers, and junior team members.

What You'll Need to Succeed P. Eng designation in British Columbia. Degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution or equivalent qualification. 10+ years of electrical engineering experience within a multidisciplinary consulting, design, or design-build environment. Minimum 3 years of North American project experience. Strong knowledge of the Canadian Electrical Code, BC Building Code, National Building Code, and applicable regulations. Experience designing power distribution, lighting, life safety, and building communication systems. Proven project experience across commercial, residential, institutional, industrial, and mixed-use developments. Strong understanding of Revit/BIM workflows and multidisciplinary project coordination. Experience with contract administration, field reviews, and stakeholder management. Excellent communication, leadership, and mentoring abilities. Experience with sustainable and environmentally focused design initiatives is considered an asset.
