As an Associate Data Analyst, you actively contribute to various initiatives by analyzing data to solve business problems and providing valuable insights. You understand the insurance business domain and ensure your own tasks contribute to meeting the business objectives by applying appropriate methods and critical thinking and performing analysis. You will have the opportunity to work with experienced professionals, gain hands-on experience with real-world data, and contribute to impactful projects.

How you will create impact:

  • Assist in performing descriptive and diagnostic analysis using recommended methods (ex: regression, cohort analysis, cluster analysis, A/B testing, factor analysis).

  • Assist in the design and development metrics to enable descriptive analysis and diagnostic analysis.

  • Assist with the design, proof of concept and deliver a prototype analytical solution to enable effective storytelling and descriptive/diagnostic analysis.

  • Work on Data querying (T-SQL, SQL, MySQL, etc.)

  • Collaborate with team members to develop and improve data processes.

  • Document workflows, findings, and recommendations clearly and concisely.

  • Support ad hoc data requests and contribute to ongoing projects as needed.

To join our team:

  • You have 1-3 years of relevant experience in Business Intelligence or another relevant domain.

  • You have a University Degree in Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or equivalent technical experience.

  • You have experience solving standard problems by analyzing possible solutions by using our experience, judgment and precedent & challenging status quo.

  • You have good knowledge and understanding of data analysis, programming, modeling techniques, data warehouse and data management, research, architecture and design.

  • Knowledge of Python or R for data analysis is an asset.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel and basic knowledge of database concepts.

  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, MicroStrategy) is an asset.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Attention to detail and willingness to learn.

  • Experience in Property and Casualty Insurance is an asset

  • This position primarily works with majority non-francophone groups, and teams located outside of Québec, and requires proficiency in English. The essential non-French duties are not assignable to adjacent or other team members.
