AIR INUIT CORPORATE PROFILE Air Inuit has been providing essential scheduled, charter, cargo and emergency air transportation services to Nunavik and beyond, 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, for 45 years. Owned collectively by the Inuit of Nunavik through the Makivik Corporation, the airline operates a fleet of 30 aircraft and employs over 1,000 people in one of the world's most demanding flying environments.

Position Overview Carry out maintenance of our ground vehicles in our northern bases.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, identify problems and repair the fleet of vehicles, ramp equipment and forklift trucks in Nunavik;
  • Accurately record the details of the work done and keep records;
  • Ability to establish a preventive maintenance plan, schedule parts orders and maintain inventory;
  • Proactive follow-ups: condition of vehicles, proper use of vehicles at stations, safe mechanical condition, submission of reports, etc.;
  • Keep a work area safe and tidy;
  • Carry out any other tasks necessary and required by the company.

Qualifications

  • Accredited Vehicle Technician’s Diploma
  • 5+ of general mechanic gasoline and diesel vehicles. Ability to work on electrical equipment (Forklift) will be an asset;
  • Hold a valid driver’s license;
  • Ability to work safely and autonomously;
  • Professional and reserved attitude and behavior;
  • Ability for teamwork;
  • Sense of initiative and organization as well as adaptability to planning change with resourcefulness;
  • Ability to communicate in at least two of the following languages: Inuktitut, French, English;
  • Rotational position on the network in Nunavik, must be flexible and ready to travel;
  • Diploma of vocational studies in automotive mechanics or equivalent work experience

EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

  • Accommodations, meals, work clothing and travel between Montreal and the Northern bases are provided;
  • 2 week rotational schedule traveling throughout the Nunavik network as required.

Compensation

  • Compensation and benefits are determined in accordance with corporate policy;
  • Hourly wage starting at $27.24 - $46.82

The remuneration package and associated benefits will be in accordance with corporate policies.
