Reporting to: Product Formulation Leader
The Formulation Coordinator will play a key role in managing and supporting the formulation of products from concept to production. This position involves collaborating closely with process audits, quality assurance, regulatory, and production teams to ensure the successful creation and scaling of new products. The ideal candidate will be organized, detail-oriented, and passionate about food science and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities

Receive customer formulations and transfer to Ya YA format and obtain batch card approval from Ya YA Foods manager.

Coordinate with customer to finalize and approve Ya YA batch sheets, product specification sheets, batch card, product specifications, and obtain all information prior to beginning trial.

Collaborate with customer and the planning and account manager to schedule and verify trial production date 45 days from batch card approval.

Schedule a trail minimum of 45 days from batch card approval.

Collaborate with production teams to streamline and optimize the formulation processes for efficiency and quality.

Coordinate and monitor the testing of new products and formulations, including sensory analysis.

Collaborating with Cross functional team (such as Quality Assurance, Regulatory Affairs, and Production departments) to ensure alignment on project timelines, ingredient usage, and production requirements.

Address any challenges or deviations in the formulation process and collaborate with the team to find solutions.

Provide assistance and support to the customer during the trial production period.

Compliance with all rules & policies regarding health safety, occupational safety, environmental safety, food safety, legal regulations, company requirements, etc.

Compliance with the Company's Integrated Management Systems which includes, but is not limited to Production, Quality, Food Safety & GMP.

Other duties as assigned.
Profile
- University degree in Food Science, Biology, Chemistry or life science related field is required
- 1+ years of experience in Food Manufacturing within a GMP environment is required
- Knowledge of food safety related legislation, standards, and regulations is an asset
- Good communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
- Knowledge of industry trends, ingredient innovations, and consumer preferences is a plus.
- Familiarity with software tools for documentation and process tracking is preferred.
- In-depth understanding of overall business operations & customer needs
- Strong written and oral communications skills
- Strong analytical skills, organizational skills, and balanced decision-making skills required to manage projects
- NB: Successful candidates will be required to provide photo ID, banking details, a valid SIN number, and (if applicable) a valid work permit
