HOURS OF WORK:

The stated hours of work are approximate as schedules are subject to change with the operational needs of the Health Centre. Changes made to hours of work will follow the terms of the applicable collective agreement, company policy and/or legislation.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

Responsible to the Director of Emergency & Critical Care, the Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and monitoring the smooth operations of all Registered Nurses, Respiratory Therapists, clerks and aides in the ICU. She/he will facilitate best practices with respect to patient focused care within PRHC. The primary role of the Manager will be to lead and support operations for these employees on a day to day basis. The Manager will participate in the development of policies and procedures in accordance with PRHC’s strategic initiatives and objectives, including meeting industry professional practice and quality standards. She /he will be responsible for providing clinical direction, quality improvement programs, and patient and staff safety programs.

WHAT YOU’LL BRING:

· Certificate of Competence from a regulated college required.

· Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required (or commitment to obtain within 5 years)

· A minimum of five years of leadership and/or management experience preferred

· Master’s degree in related field preferred

· Completion of OHA management courses (or equivalent) is an asset.

· Excellent human resource management and leadership skills

· Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively with staff, Physicians, and patients/families.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Excellent organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects.

· Excellent conflict resolution skills

· Demonstrated commitment to continuing education

· Membership and participation in relevant professional organizations(s)
