2 Hour Learning operates on a model in which students achieve learning gains at twice the typical rate within a two-hour daily window. This is made possible through AI-based tutoring, mastery-oriented progression, and a significant redesign of traditional classroom structures. The outcomes have been robust. We now require a leader capable of aligning execution across varied school environments, elevating the standard of academic leadership, and representing a movement rooted in evidence-based learning science to external audiences.

This position is not centered on theoretical exploration. It is a leadership imperative. You will be accountable for academic strategy in its applied form, establish explicit performance standards, diagnose breakdowns in execution, and develop high-performing teams to produce tangible results. You will convert our scientific underpinnings into operational rigor and advocate for this model on a global stage.

What You Will Be Doing

Developing academic frameworks that convert learning science into actionable direction for curriculum design, student motivation systems, and application interfaces. Overseeing academic execution reviews with Heads of Academics to confirm that school teams maintain alignment, accountability, and performance. Integrating findings from data analysis, stakeholder interviews, and direct observation into comprehensive academic ecosystem evaluations that identify the most critical obstacles to accelerated learning and recommend concrete solutions. Ensuring strategic coherence through structured planning, continuous feedback mechanisms, and progress tracking focused on student learning objectives. Serving as the principal representative of 2 Hour Learning in high-profile settings, including keynote presentations and meetings with Ministries of Education, to influence global perspectives on education.

Engaging in limited curriculum initiatives that do not produce broader systemic impact. Producing theoretical research disconnected from measurable student outcomes or operational implementation. Transferring responsibility for performance management to mid-level staff or external advisors. Depending on institutional prestige or conceptual arguments to convince resistant audiences.

Director Of Academic Excellence Key Responsibilities

Expand and refine 2 Hour Learning's validated academic model by coordinating execution across multiple schools, raising leadership performance standards, and serving as the authoritative public advocate for a movement founded on rigorous scientific principles and demonstrated outcomes.

Basic Requirements

Advanced degree (Masters or Ph.D) in Learning Science, Educational Psychology, Instructional Design, or a related field At least 7 years in academic or EdTech leadership roles, leading a team of staff/employees (not an informal peer leader role, such as grade-level lead); you must have been responsible for hiring, monitoring performance, coaching, and making termination decisions Experience driving learning outcomes for students and upholding student performance standards Experience applying AI or emerging technologies to improve education, such as through personalized learning, adaptive learning, AI agents, etc. Experience managing academic teams of 50+ people (e.g., the teams you managed directly executed curriculum, instruction, or assessment) Experience interacting directly with students, teachers, or school leaders in a professional setting

Working with us

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. The compensation level for this role is $200 USD/hour, which equates to $400,000 USD/year assuming 40 hours per week and 50 weeks per year. The payment period is weekly.
