About the role

Role Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Production Planner to manage and optimize the production schedule. In this role, you will work closely with the Assembly Master Planner, cross-functional teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure seamless production flow, mitigate supply chain risks, and proactively address issues related to material shortages, delays, and process inefficiencies.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Effectively manage the production schedule based on available capacity and multiple changing customer requirements.
  • Taking deep dives to proactively identify, anticipate and escalate shortages in the short and long term as needed.
  • Work with cross functional teams to Investigate, track, and compile a database of work arounds and substitutions.
  • Monitor incoming material to ensure timely delivery, escalate delays to planning and logistics teams, to fulfill shop requirements in scheduling and releasing engine starts, rework and conversions.
  • Develop, review, update necessary reports to ensure clear communication across all business levels.
  • Collaborate with operations and manufacturing engineering teams to ensure accurate routing alignment for scheduled dates within the ERP system.
  • Act as a primary point of contact to lead and coordinate communications with internal stakeholders to meet business needs.
  • Drive process improvements to minimize fulfillment risks caused by internal issues and enhance production efficiency.
  • Work effectively within a team setting and under minimal guidance to achieve production goals and resolve issues.

Preferred Qualification:

  • Strong understanding of production planning, scheduling, and supply chain management.
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college with supply chain focus or related field (or 3+ years of comparable industry experience)
  • 3+ years direct experience working with ERP systems, ideally in a manufacturing environment.
  • Ability to proactively identify issues, analyze data, and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work across teams and levels.
  • Experience with cross-functional teams and driving process improvements.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.

Preferred Skills and Characteristics:

  • Previous experience in engine production scheduling, manufacturing, or a related field, with familiarity in workarounds and substitutions within production planning.
  • Strong knowledge of material management and logistics coordination.
  • Collaborative team player who takes ownership of decisions and is a results-oriented self-starter.
  • Proven ability to drive change, motivate teams, and excel in a fast-paced business environment.
  • Ability to work effectively across various work environments and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Consistent track record of meeting or exceeding key performance objectives and deadlines.
  • Strong organizational skills, with the ability to assess, prioritize, and manage tasks, risks, resources, milestones, and deliverables amidst frequent changes.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task, coordinate several projects simultaneously, and lead initiatives of moderate scope and impact.
  • Analytical mindset with a proven ability to identify root causes of problems and develop efficient, effective solutions.
  • Experience in planning, procurement, scheduling, or related functions.
  • Strong customer service skills, with keen attention to detail and quality.
  • Proven ability to work independently and manage time effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Previous experience in engine production scheduling or manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with workarounds and substitutions in production planning.
  • Knowledge of material management and logistics coordination.
