What we are looking for:

We are looking for a Maintenance Technician who will be responsible for maintenance and repair of machines and equipment at Saand during the Afternoon Shift.

Responsibilities*:*

Under the direction of Plant Manager, the Maintenance Technician is responsible for preventative maintenance and repair of machines and equipment. The Maintenance Technician will also implement and perform continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principles by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.

Requirements:

  • Repair, install, dismantle, reassemble, move, and maintain plant machinery and equipment such as mixers, conveyors, compressors, and pumps follow diagrams, sketches, operations manuals, manufacturer's instructions, and engineering specifications; troubleshoots malfunctions.
  • Repair or replace control devices such as switches, proximity sensors, pushbuttons, contractors, motor starters etc. as needed.
  • Perform work order repairs, inspections, and adjustments; responds to emergency break downs during the production process.
  • Able to set up and operate welders, drill press, grinder, hand tools and other metal working equipment
  • Fabrication and modification of new and existing equipment
  • Maintain/calibrate measuring tools and equipment
  • Completes maintenance and repair records as required.
  • Adheres to company safety programs including Lockout / Tagout, zero mechanical state for equipment, fall protection equipment, ladder, lift equipment regulations and confined space requirements per legislated requirements and the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Fluent in English
  • 2-3 years of heavy machinery mechanic experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a hands-on repair and maintenance role in a high-volume manufacturing environment.
  • Electrical certification and or experience is an asset.
  • Detail oriented.
  • Quality control oriented.
  • Safety focused.
  • Team player.
  • Ability to coach operators when required.
  • Ability to build and repair a variety of mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of computerized machinery.
  • Able to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics and basic electrical diograms.
  • Self Starter with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to run diagnostics on machinery.
  • Ability to weld
  • Ability to commute to work
