About the role
An opportunity is available for a skilled film editor to join the post-production phase of a new Palestinian short film. This project is an intimate, story-driven narrative that demands a sensitive and cinematic editorial approach. The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong sense of pacing, rhythm, and performance, with an appreciation for subtlety and silence over overtly stylized editing. The film, approximately 10–15 minutes in length, has all footage shot and ready for assembly. Creative references and clear direction will be provided to ensure the final cut is festival-ready. This collaboration is intended for editors who value artistic integrity and are committed to delivering a polished, emotionally resonant film.
Responsibilities
- Edit a 10–15 minute narrative short film, focusing on story, emotion, and performance
- Collaborate closely with the director to interpret creative references and feedback
- Assemble a clean, festival-ready cut using Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Avid
- Refine pacing, rhythm, and transitions to enhance the film’s emotional impact
- Incorporate feedback efficiently while maintaining the film’s artistic vision
- Ensure technical quality and readiness for festival submission
Skills And Requirements
- Proven experience editing narrative short films, preferably with festival exposure
- Proficiency in Premiere Pro, DaVinci Resolve, or Avid
- Strong storytelling instincts and sensitivity to performance and pacing
- Ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with directors
- Familiarity with Arabic or Middle Eastern stories is a plus
- Detail-oriented, organized, and able to work independently to deadlines
- Commitment to artistic collaboration and high production standards
