POSITION SUMMARY:
The Financial Reporting Analyst is responsible for assisting with financial tasks such as journal entries, report preparation, account reconciliation, and assisting with analyzing accounts, budgeting, and forecasting activities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares monthly financial journal entries.
  • Prepares account reconciliations, ensuring that records are accurate and up to date.
  • Manages and tracks fixed assets, ensuring accurate records and timely updates in the asset system.
  • Assists with the preparation and submission of various tax remittances, including sales tax and other applicable taxes.
  • Supports team with updating financial spreadsheets.
  • Provides support for various financial statement and analysis.
  • Collaborates with departments to gather financial data for reporting purposes.
  • Supports month-end and year-end closing procedures.
  • Responsible for balancing the month end group experience system.
  • Assist external advisor commissions.
  • Develops and maintains procedure documentation ensuring consistency and clarity in procedures for current and future team members.
  • Assists with ad-hoc financial tasks and special projects.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS

  • Post-secondary degree in accounting or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of related experience.
  • Enrollment in the CPA program.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of accounting principles and financial concepts. Knowledge or familiarity of tax remittance processes and fixed asset management is an asset.
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills in financial analysis and reporting.
  • Dedicated to the principles of exceptional service, committed to responding to, anticipating, and addressing customer needs, for both internal and external customers.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to exercises sound judgement, tact, and discretion. Able to work well with a team and demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage and prioritize several activities on an ongoing basis. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Self-directed, reliable, punctual, and able to work with minimum supervision.
  • Skilled at using business tools including MS Word, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Outlook Excel and Pivot Tables. Familiarity with financial software and accounting tools.
