Grade**:** SGEU.08.
Public Prosecutions requires a highly-organized and self-motivated individual to assist with the HRVO/SVOR program. This includes collecting information, prioritizing referrals and corresponding with justice partners to facilitate information sharing on HRVO/SVOR offenders and potential candidates.
This position does not involve interviewing offenders. It primarily involves writing documents which summarize many often-lengthy reports from various sources including police, prosecutions and courts. In addition, it involves gathering those reports and information from the sources and other governmental and non-governmental agencies and individuals. This may be shared across jurisdictions. To accomplish this, you will be in daily contact with the sources in person, electronically and over the telephone. You will deal with highly-sensitive and explicit material.
Working independently, this position requires you to work in an extremely busy and often stressful office with the ability to respect and maintain strict confidentiality. The ability to deal with ever-changing priorities, short timelines, and balance many tasks in an efficient yet thorough manner is essential.
Some of the necessary skills and knowledge for the position would typically be attained through a university degree in Human Justice and/or Criminology.
