We are recruiting for an Accounts Payable Accountant to join our team in our Toronto office. The successful candidate must have a minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance and will be responsible for accounts payable, invoice processing, and vendor management. McCarthy Tétrault employees benefit from a hybrid work environment.
As an Accounts Payable Accountant, you will be:
- Processing invoices with high accuracy by ensuring amount, currency, expense code and billing entity are correct.
- Resolving vendor and business inquiries within the team’s standard deadlines.
- Assisting with preparation of weekly payments schedule.
- Assisting with month-end, quarter-end and year-end processes.
- Assisting end users in addressing inquiries related to P2P platform.
- Resolving vendor and business inquiries within the team’s standard deadlines.
- Creating cheque schedules in preparation of invoice payments.
- Sending files for posted and approved electronic payments including wire transfers and EFTs.
- Ensuring time sensitive payments are made according to the specified timeline.
- Assisting with special projects as requested.
- Assisting with reconciling various vendor accounts.
As our ideal candidate, you will distinguish yourself by the following profile:
- Minimum 3 years of accounting or finance experience, and a related undergraduate degree.
- Advanced Excel skills, including familiarity with Pivot Tables, H-Lookup, V-Lookup.
- High level of accuracy, strong problem solving skills, detail oriented, and well organized.
- Ability to manage and prioritize task in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to demonstrate positive attitude, ownership, accountability, and willingness to learn.
- Experience in Coupa, and Business Intelligence tools (e.g. SQL or other database software) is an asset.
