Head of Partnerships & Events

Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced Head of Partnerships & Events to lead and manage the Association’s partnerships and events that deliver products and services to OREA members, increasing the awareness and value proposition of the OREA membership to grassroots members and various member segments.
This is a dynamic role accountable for driving partnerships (business development), enhancing events and insurance programs, and overseeing building operations. It offers an exciting opportunity to leverage your proven track record, knowledge, experience, and skillset to position yourself as a strategic partner for the Association.
Main Responsibilities:
Partnership Development & Events
- Manage and expand a portfolio of strategic partnerships and affinity programs that provide value to members and generate non-dues revenue.
- Serve as the primary liaison for all existing partners, ensuring contract compliance, performance reporting and tracking, and fulfillment of all deliverables.
- Lead the development and negotiation of partnership agreements, in collaboration with internal teams (e.g., legal, finance, etc.), as needed.
- Actively seek out new partnership opportunities aligned with OREA’s strategic plan.
- Develop and maintain a system for tracking partnership activities, contract timelines, and reporting requirements.
- Oversee, lead and attend all OREA events.
- Identify and secure sponsorship opportunities for OREA’s events.
- Build sponsorship programs for Member Boards and Partner events, increasing exposure and revenues.
- Develop and manage sponsorship packages and ensure timely delivery.
Leadership & Operations
- Provide direct supervision, leadership, and guidance to staff across key functions including events, and building operations.
- Accountable for all OREA Insurance Programs.
- Champion a culture of excellence in customer service and operational efficiency.
- Plan and oversee all aspects of OREA flagship events including logistics, speaker management, sponsorship, and contract negotiation with venues and vendors.
- Organize Board of Directors’ participation in external events.
- Oversee the development and manage the application process, policies, and contracts for the EMBERS program.
- Stay informed on industry trends affecting REALTORS®, and recommend new programs, services, or advocacy efforts to address emerging needs.
- Lead OREA’s commercial member strategy, providing guidance, support, and advocacy to strengthen the commercial real estate sector.
- Manage the OREA Commercial Committee (OCC) strategic plan and work with relevant stakeholders to implement initiatives.
- Liaise between the OCC and the Standard Forms Committee for the development and revision of commercial forms and clauses.
- Build strategic partnerships with external commercial real estate organizations to expand OREA’s influence and products service offerings.
- Develop and manage budgets related to partnerships, sponsorships, and programs, ensuring alignment with revenue goals and strategic plan.
- Produce regular reports on partnership performance, sponsor engagement, and program success for internal leadership and Board review.
- Contribute to organizational strategy by identifying trends, risks, and opportunities in partnership development and insurance programs.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- Minimum of 10+ years of progressive experience in business development, partnerships, and/or account management, ideally within the Not-for-Profit sector or association setting.
- Minimum 7+ years of experience in a people leadership role, managing direct reports and cross-functional teams.
- Proven track record in building, negotiating, and scaling revenue generating partnerships.
- Experience building and delivering tailored presentations to senior-level audiences.
- Experience with CRM and/or other partnership management tools and using KPIs to track growth, engagement, and retention.
- Excellent negotiation, relationship-building, and communication skills.
- Understanding of the organized real estate industry is an asset.
- Strong customer service and leadership skills.
- Ability to lead and deliver projects and outcomes.
- Ability to multi-task while also being highly detail oriented.
- Expert problem solver, excellent people skills with experience collaborating in multi-disciplinary, diverse, and dynamic teams.
- Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends, as needed in live partnership workstreams and/or live event environments.
