Human Resources Coordinator - 1743

Full-Time Position (Global)

Service Area: Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack

Salary- $59,017.07 to $66,751.27 per annum (35 hrs per week)

POSITION SUMMARY:

The HR Coordinator will be responsible for providing comprehensive support across a wide range of human resources functions. Reporting to the HR Manager, this role encompasses recruitment, employee relations, and HR administration. The HR Coordinator ensures the smooth execution of HR policies and processes, playing a key role in promoting the organization as an employer of choice while supporting both management and employees.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Recruitment and Onboarding:

  • Support the full-cycle recruitment process, including job postings, candidate screening, interview scheduling, reference checks, and background verifications.
  • Draft and post job advertisements, presenting the agency as an attractive employer.
  • Conduct pre-screening interviews and participate in interview panels alongside hiring managers as needed.
  • Prepare new hire paperwork and assist with the onboarding process.

Employee Relations:

  • Act as a point of contact for employees and managers on HR-related inquiries.

  • Support the HR Manager and HR Advisors in addressing employee relations issues, including investigations, conflict resolution, and performance management.

  • Assist with the interpretation and administration of collective agreements, as needed.

  • Support disability management, WorkSafe BC processes, benefit and pension administration.

  • Contribute to maintaining a positive work climate, aligned with Xyólheméylh’s core values and cultural principles.

HR Administration:

  • Maintain accurate recruitment and HR records, ensuring compliance with organizational policies and employment laws.

  • Participate in HR projects and continuous process improvement initiatives, contributing ideas to enhance HR operations.

  • Performs other tasks as requested and as directed by the HR Manager.

  • Ensure adherence to policies, including confidentiality, and uphold standards in line with labor laws and organizational guidelines.

  • Supporting office locations in the Fraser Valley, ability to travel and support in-person is required.

  • Maintain current knowledge of all Company related policies and employment legislations (i.e., Human Rights Act, Employment Standards, Labour Relations Act) and enforce adherence to requirements.

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Certificate or Diploma in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a recruitment or HR generalist role; experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
  • CPHR designation (or working towards) is an asset.
  • Experience with HRIS and applicant tracking systems, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong understanding of employment laws, HR practices, and recruitment strategies.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills, with a customer service mindset and a collaborative approach to working with team members and stakeholders.
  • Knowledge and sensitivity to Indigenous cultural values, with a commitment to promoting respect, diversity, and inclusion.
  • A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License with no restrictions, and access to a safe, reliable vehicle
  • Criminal Record Check for Working with Vulnerable Children or Adults
