A Slice of the Role
The People & Culture Coordinator plays a key role in supporting the employee experience throughout the entire employee lifecycle. From recruitment and onboarding to engagement, development, recognition, and HR administration, this role helps create a positive and engaging workplace culture while ensuring operational excellence within the People & Culture function.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, enjoys building relationships, is highly organized, and is passionate about creating exceptional employee experiences.

Job Type: Full-time
Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm. Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours, on occasion, is required to support business needs.
Salary: $60,000 - $68,000/year
Core Responsibilities
Recruitment & Onboarding: Assist with posting job openings, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, reference checks, and offer letters. Coordinate onboarding programs for new hires, ensuring a smooth and welcoming introduction to Chudleigh’s Bakery. Maintain accurate recruitment records and employment documentation.
Employee Engagement & Culture
Support initiatives that strengthen company culture and enhance employee engagement. Plan and coordinate events, recognition programs, and team-building activities. Collect and analyze employee feedback through surveys and other engagement tools.
Employee Lifecycle Support
Support employee lifecycle activities including new hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, leaves of absence, and terminations. Coordinate employee offboarding activities and exit documentation. Assist with accommodation and return-to-work processes. Maintain employee records and ensure all employee information remains accurate and up to date.
Learning & Development
Assist in coordinating training programs and development opportunities for employees. Help track employee development plans and progress.
P&C Administration & Compliance
Maintain employee files and HRIS records while ensuring data integrity and confidentiality. Ensure employee records and documentation comply with applicable Canadian employment legislation and company policies. Assist with HR reporting, metrics, audits, and compliance reviews. Administer employee programs and perks, including Personal Development Fund, Fitness Fund, Safety Shoe Reimbursement, and other employee programs as assigned. Prepare employment verification letters and other HR-related documentation. Support policy communication and adherence across the organization. Respond to employee inquiries and direct requests to the appropriate resources.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve People & Culture processes, systems, and employee experiences. Support implementation of People & Culture projects and initiatives. Participate in departmental and cross-functional continuous improvement activities.
Other Duties
Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.
What We're Looking For
Education & Experience: Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field. 1–3 years of experience in HR, People & Culture, or a related role. Knowledge of Canadian employment laws and HR best practices. Experience with HRIS systems (Dayforce & Predictive Index experience is considered an asset). Experience with PowerPoint and Canva is considered an asset.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to build positive relationships across all levels of the organization. Excellent organizational and administrative skills. Strong attention to detail. Problem solving skills. Adaptability and Initiative. Excellent time management and prioritization skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.
Bonus Points If You Have
Experience in Food, CPG, Foodservice, or Manufacturing environments. Lean Six Sigma certification.
