About the role
Lead the Strategy. Shape the Market. Empower the Segment A Market Organization (MO) Segment Manager is responsible for developing and executing the MO’s segment strategy, with a clear focus on; key applications, key projects and Key customers. Engage with the sales teams to support with customer development, defining standards and bringing in sales. Work closely with teams on large projects within the region, bringing along all relevant stakeholders. Develop and coach teams to build up competency and understanding of the segment.
What You'll Do
- Develop and drive segment strategy to grow segment sales
- Work other E&I regions, global and HNA Hub to identify best practices in terms of operations and structure
- Manage and maintain a living pipeline of HRP to identify key projects, opportunities & customers by subsegment on a rolling 3 year basis
- Develop business case to determining best bets for wins, where MO should play and how to win opportunities (investments & execution)
- Determine market data around key subsegments to determine potential in each market and performance vs. market growth
- Team management, with focus on bringing out the best in people but also workload management.
- To co-ordinate development and performance of individuals, through MOMENT processes
- To proactively support the talent team with recruitment initiatives to enhance the talent pipeline within the business
- Other tasks may be required from time to time to meet the requirements of the role and business.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor degree required, preferred in mechanical engineering, civil, industrial, structural or related engineering field
- MBA preferred
- Bilingual in French/English preferred
- Participate in the international business travel, to the United States for your initial training. Please note that any travel visa requirements will be your responsibility to obtain and need to be in hand before applying
- 10–15 years of experience in industrial construction, energy, or infrastructure markets, preferred
- Have a strong strategic thinking and market analysis
- Experience developing segments or new market opportunities
- Credibility with engineering firms, EPCs, and large contractors
- Ability to influence internal sales organizations
- Comfortable translating technical solutions into business strategy
- Strategic sales background preferred in Industrial construction, Energy, Oil & Gas or large infrastructure projects
- Working in an engineering specification environments
- Comfortable influencing a national sales organization and translating industry insights into commercial growth initiatives.
What’s In It for You The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skills sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs. The disclosed range estimate is for this particular job posting. Please be advised that a different location may result in a different range. At Hilti, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $120,000 - $140,000 with bonus at target of $25,344.96.
