About the role

Sialco Materials is a leading specialty chemical manufacturer that focuses on finding innovative solutions to our customers' problems. As a proud division of CES Energy Solutions, we play a vital role in providing a full cycle of consumable chemical solutions to the energy industry—spanning from drilling and stimulation to production and midstream operations. At Sialco, we combine technical expertise with a collaborative culture to deliver high-performance products safely and sustainably.

We are seeking a versatile and detail-oriented Chemical Engineer to oversee our manufacturing processes and champion our Quality Management System (QMS). In this role, you will lead the compliance, scale-up, and continuous improvement of our oilfield specialty chemical lines. You will bridge the gap between lab-scale formulations and full-scale plant production, ensuring that everything we manufacture meets strict performance, quality, and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

QMS Management & Maintenance Scheduling: Take full ownership of the facility’s Quality Management System (QMS), ensuring ongoing compliance with ISO standards. This includes building, executing, and maintaining the master QMS maintenance schedule (calibrations, system reviews, and document controls). Partner with the QC lab to troubleshoot batch deviations, lead internal audits, and implement corrective and preventive actions (CAPA). Process Optimization: Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize chemical manufacturing processes for oilfield specialty chemicals (including drilling fluids, stimulation additives, and production chemistries) to improve yield and reduce waste. Production Scale-Up: Lead the transition of new chemical formulations from R&D pilots to commercial-scale manufacturing lines, bridging the gap between the lab and full-scale reactors. Safety & Compliance: Maintain a safety-first culture by ensuring all operations strictly comply with Process Safety Management (PSM) and environmental regulations. Participate heavily in HAZOP studies and risk assessments. Equipment & Design: Specify, install, and commission new process equipment while maintaining accurate piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).

Qualifications & Skills

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering. Experience: 3–5 years of engineering experience within a chemical manufacturing plant or refinery setting. Hands-on knowledge of process equipment (pumps, agitators, mechanical seals, filter press, furnace, etc.) is considered a strong asset. QMS Expertise: Direct experience managing, auditing, or creating maintenance schedules for a manufacturing Quality Management System under ISO standards is highly preferred. Technical Skills: Strong working knowledge of mass balance, fluid dynamics, and scale-up processes. Software: Proficiency with process simulation software (e.g., Aspen Plus, HYSYS) and AutoCAD. Soft Skills: Excellent project management skills, exceptional attention to detail, and a "safety-first" mindset.

What We Offer

RRSP Matching program to help you save for the future. Generous Paid Time Off (PTO) and vacation package. Comprehensive health, dental, and vision benefits. Support for continuing education and professional development.

Sialco Materials offers our employees a competitive salary and benefits package commensurate with experience. We thank all applicants for their interest; however, we will only contact those individuals who qualify for an interview.
