Education: Other trades certificate or diploma. or equivalent experience. Work site environment: Confined spaces. Noisy. Work setting: Manufacture. Tasks: Interpret welding process specifications. Operate manual or semi-automatic, fully automated welding equipment. Read and interpret welding blueprints, drawings specifications, manuals and processes. Examine welds and ensure that they meet standards and/or specifications. Operate oxygen arc cutting equipment (arc-air), (AOC). Operate previously set-up welding machines to fabricate or repair metal parts and products. Certificates, licences, memberships, and courses : Welder Trade Red Seal Certificate. Type of materials: Steel, iron and heavy metals. Welding techniques: Shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) (TIG). Gas metal arc welding (GMAW). Flux core arc welding (FCAW). Multipass. Equipment and machinery experience: Arc welding machine. Gas welding machine. Parts specialization: Manufacturing equipment. Area of specialization: Cast iron and other metals. Sales experience: Mining machinery/equipment. Transportation/travel information: Own transportation. Valid driver's licence. Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment. Repetitive tasks. Physically demanding. Manual dexterity. Attention to detail. Hand-eye co-ordination. Standing for extended periods. Weight handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs). Own tools/equipment: Steel-toed safety boots. Gloves. Welding helmet. Personal suitability: Team player. Reliability.
