About the role

We're looking for a confident, driven, and results-oriented Account Executive (AE) to join our growing sales team at bids&tenders as we expand across North America!

About Valsoft

Established in Canada in 2015, Valsoft has grown to a global portfolio of 118+ companies, acquiring and developing vertical market software companies, enabling each business to deliver the best mission-critical solutions for customers in their respective industries. A key tenet of Valsoft’s philosophy is to invest in well-established businesses and foster an entrepreneurial environment that molds companies into leaders in their respective industries. Valsoft looks to buy, hold and create value through long-term partnerships with existing management.

About bids&tenders

We are an established digital procurement software platform within the Valsoft portfolio and a recognized leader in public-sector procurement across North America. bids&tenders is deeply embedded within government procurement environments, supporting agencies at every level of the public sector as they manage the full lifecycle of their procurement activities. Public buyers and suppliers rely on our platform daily for sourcing, submissions, evaluations, awards, contract management, and supplier performance.

Originally created over 15 years ago to address a critical gap - giving suppliers a clear and accessible way to view and respond to procurement opportunities - bids&tenders has steadily evolved in partnership with procurement professionals. We were early pioneers in eBidding, and over time we’ve expanded the platform to include modern evaluation tools, contract management workflows, supplier performance capabilities, and a streamlined experience for both buyers and suppliers.

The AE role focuses on business development across municipalities, public agencies, school boards, utilities, and broader public-sector organizations in both Canada and the United States. You will own the full sales cycle, from prospecting to contracting, and play a pivotal role in accelerating our expansion across underpenetrated markets.

Key Responsibilities

Pipeline Development & Prospecting

  • Research and identify public-sector prospects across municipal, regional, provincial/state, and federal levels.
  • Build and manage a strong pipeline through outbound prospecting, inbound lead follow-up, conferences, and territory campaigns.
  • Execute targeted outreach that aligns with procurement cycles, regional priorities, and market conditions.

Full-Cycle Sales Execution

  • Lead prospects through the entire sales cycle: discovery, tailored demonstrations, value articulation, procurement requirements, pricing, negotiation, and contracting.
  • Navigate complex multi-stakeholder environments involving Procurement, Finance, IT, Legal, and departmental leadership.
  • Prepare and manage RFP/RFI responses in partnership with internal teams when required.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Sales Development, Marketing, Product, Implementation, and Account Management to ensure seamless handoff and alignment on customer needs.
  • Relay customer insights and competitive intelligence to Product and Marketing to support roadmap and messaging improvements.

Territory Planning & Forecasting

  • Maintain accurate forecasting, territory plans, and activity tracking within the CRM.
  • Develop data-backed strategies for expanding bids&tenders’ footprint in underpenetrated regions.
  • Prioritize opportunities based on revenue potential, competitive dynamics, and procurement timelines.

Market & Product Expertise

  • Stay informed on public-sector procurement practices, regulatory changes, and industry trends.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of the bids&tenders platform and be able to clearly demonstrate workflows, differentiators, and value propositions.
  • Represent bids&tenders at industry events, conferences, and webinars as a knowledgeable and credible market-facing advocate.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in SaaS, enterprise software, or technology consulting sales; experience selling into government or regulated industries is strongly preferred

  • Preferred: Experience working directly within public procurement or selling to procurement teams

  • Proven track record of meeting or exceeding quota in a net-new sales role

  • Strong ability to manage 6–12+ month sales cycles with multiple internal and external stakeholders

  • Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills, with the ability to convey complex workflows simply and clearly

  • Self-driven, disciplined, and goal-oriented—able to work independently while thriving in a collaborative environment

  • Comfortable owning structured pipeline development, strategic outreach, and territory planning

  • Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales enablement tools

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, public administration, or related field preferred

  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada or the United States (role is North America–focused)

Benefits

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary and commission structure with uncapped earning potential.
  • Comprehensive benefits package.
  • Ongoing professional development, enablement, and training.
  • The opportunity to drive meaningful impact in a rapidly growing software company entering its next stage of expansion.
  • A supportive, collaborative, and mission-aligned team environment.

Salary Range for this role is $80,000 to $100,000 CAD.
