Lead Mechanical Design Engineer
Location: Mississauga, Ontario (Hybrid)
Responsibilities

Lead/support multiple sensor projects and tasks, focusing on product development and qualification.

Conduct trade studies, develop and validate detailed requirements, and prepare development and qualification plans.

Design, analyze, and qualify sensor products, ensuring all customer and regulatory requirements are met.

Oversee the overall technical coordination within engineering functions supporting sensor development.

Review and approve design documents and reports to maintain product design quality.

Provide technical leadership in customer design reviews, technical coordination meetings, and internal reviews.

Establish and maintain detailed technical plans and schedules, regularly updating project engineering and management on progress.

Manage multiple projects simultaneously and provide status reports as required.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree (BEng/BSc) in Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering.
- Experience: Minimum 6 years of experience in mechanical design engineering.
- Strong background in designing mechanical products, particularly metal enclosures capable of withstanding high levels of vibration.
- Prior experience in designing and developing temperature sensors, flow sensors, and/or pressure sensors is preferred.
- Experience leading a small team of engineers or planning tasks for hardware projects.
- Proficiency in 3D mechanical design and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).
- Hands-on experience in Finite Element Analysis (FEA), Fluid Mechanics, and/or CFD Flow Simulations is an asset.
- Familiarity with modelling tools such as Ansys and/or MATLAB is highly desirable.
