Role Summary:

The Coordinator, Admissions supports and guides applicants through all stages of the admissions process. This role evaluates and processes applications and determines eligibility for admission and scholarships for both domestic and international candidates.

This position is critical in maintaining Huron’s reputation for excellence, attracting high-quality students, and achieving enrolment targets. The Coordinator provides exceptional customer service by responding to applicant inquiries, resolving issues, and offering personalized support to ensure a smooth and positive admissions experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and evaluate applications, transcripts, and supporting documentation to make independent admission decisions across a range of applicant categories (domestic, international, transfer, mature, and special students).
  • Verify academic documents, identify discrepancies or fraudulent submissions, and ensure alignment with recruitment, academic, and visa timelines.
  • Respond to inquiries from prospective students, families, and counsellors regarding admissions, programs, scholarships, student life, and pathways.
  • Assist with student billing processes, including payments, fee schedules, and financial records, particularly during high-volume periods.
  • Support the assessment and administration of financial aid, scholarships, bursaries, and award disbursements.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to support enrolment finalization and ensure compliance with institutional policies.
  • Produce reports and maintain accurate applicant and student records using Huron’s enterprise systems.
  • Provide flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends during peak admissions cycles and recruitment events.

Qualifications:

  • Undergraduate degree from a recognized post-secondary institution required.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of administrative experience in a post-secondary or educational environment; admissions or enrolment experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Arts, Social Science disciplines, and Theology programs offered at Huron is an asset.
  • Strong knowledge of university academic rules, regulations, and admissions requirements and their impact on prospective students.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with prospective students, families, guidance counsellors, and the public.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize competing demands in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and sound judgement.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access); experience with PeopleSoft and/or CRM systems is considered an asset.
  • High attention to detail and ability to work independently.
  • Strong customer service orientation and cultural sensitivity.
