The European-Canadian Centre for Innovation and Research (ECCIR) is a non-profit organization headquartered in Edmonton that strengthens innovation, research, and business collaboration between Canada and Europe. The ECCIR is the coordinator of the Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Canada Consortium. Position Overview
ECCIR is seeking a part-time Economic Development Officer (Project Administrator) for 20 hours/week to support the development of project activities, with a specific focus on the Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs program as well as communications and marketing activities. This role is suited to someone early in their career with an interest in international collaboration, program development and management, and nonprofit work.
This is a 12-month term position with the possibility of extension. This position reports to ECCIR’s Director and Project Manager.
Key Support
Erasmus for Young Entrepreneurs (50%) Support promotion of the EYE program in Alberta/Canada Identify and engage potential host businesses Assist in developing and refining outreach approaches Support the development of this program and strengthen collaboration with European partners Plan and run information sessions Assist with reporting
Marketing & Communications (30%)
Support the development and delivery of newsletters and other communication materials Create content and updates for LinkedIn and the ECCIR website Help promote ECCIR programs, events, and initiatives through digital marketing and communications Assist with maintaining consistent branding and messaging across all communication channels Track communication activities and support reporting on marketing and outreach efforts Coordinate meetings, including scheduling, preparing agendas and follow-ups Introductory meetings with partners, stakeholders, and clients
Ecosystem Development Partnership Project (10%)
Support planning, coordination and delivery of key project activities regarding helping local businesses expand internationally Track progress and support reporting requirements Provide administrative and logistical support
Enterprise Europe Network (EEN) Canada (10%)
Work with the Director, EEN Canada Services and client companies to support business introductions, market research, partnership development, and database profile creation and/or updates Provide client support by managing communications, including responding to inquiries and facilitating follow-ups related to EEN Canada services and activities Research and identify relevant funding programs and financing opportunities, and provide client guidance on available supports for Canadian companies
Perform other related duties as required.

Required
Background in business, economics, or a related field Strong written and verbal communication skills High attention to detail and a professional approach Proficiency in Google Workspace, Microsoft Office, and Canva Proactive in reaching out to and engaging with stakeholders and partners Comfortable working independently and as part of a small team Open-minded approach and willingness to take initiative Strong organizational skills in a deadline-driven environment

Work Environment Requirement
ECCIR operates with a distributed team across Canada. This position offers a flexible hybrid work arrangement, with time split between working from home and ECCIR's office, as determined in consultation with leadership based on operational needs. Applicants who maintain part-time employment, contract work, or self-employment may do so, provided they can fully meet the performance, availability, and scheduling requirements of this position.

Location: Edmonton, Alberta - Enterprise Square Building, shared office space Candidate must be based in Edmonton Candidate must be legally entitled to work in Canada (Canadian citizen, permanent resident) Hours: 25 hours per week, Monday - Friday Start Date: September 15, 2026 Term: 12 months (with possibility of extension depending on project funds) Probation Period: 3 months Salary: $25,000 Vacation: available in the first year of employment
