Temporary Accounting Assistant (Maternity Leave Coverage)

Job Description
Are you detail-oriented, organized, and ready to jump into a dynamic finance environment? We’re looking for a Temporary Accounting Assistant to cover a maternity leave and support our Finance and Administration team.
Responsibilities
- Manage the monthly invoicing cycle, ensuring accuracy and timely submission.
- Set up new projects in the accounting system, including fee structures and billing details.
- Ensure contracts and supporting documentation are in place for all Geomatics projects.
- Perform month-end reconciliations, including Amortization, Prepaid expenses, Intercompany accounts.
- Assist with payroll review to ensure accuracy and proper coding.
- Complete bank reconciliations on a monthly basis.
- Support special projects, including process improvements and automation initiatives.
- Provide assistance with general accounting tasks as required.
Requirements
- Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 2-5 years of experience in a similar role
- Strong Excel skills and familiarity with accounting software (Ajera or Deltek is a plus)
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
- Great communication and teamwork
Qualifications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
- Experience in an engineering consulting firm is a definite asset
- Ability to pass background check
Working Conditions
- Full Time 40 hours per week
- Occasional travel and overtime, including weekends, may be required.
