What will you be doing!

• Providing day‑to‑day leadership and oversight to support departmental goals and the safe, efficient operation of wastewater facilities
• Leading new activities, projects, and facility initiatives with a focus on safety, technology adoption, knowledge transfer, and on‑time, on‑budget delivery.
• Collaborating closely with Maintenance, Occupational Safety & Health/ Industrial Hygiene (OSH/IH), Engineering Change Control (ECC), Qualitive Assurance (QA), Procurement, and other support groups to ensure proper function and performance of the treatment plant.
• Assisting in performance evaluation, scheduling, and coverage planning for Operations shift teams as required.
• Maintaining accuracy and efficiency in record‑keeping processes and ensuring adherence to procedures by Operations support staff.
• Performing problem solving and managing the development and implementation of solutions to improve processes and systems.
• Ensuring changes to processes and systems are effectively tracked, managed, implemented, and maintained.
• Mentoring decommissioning teams on meeting Facilities Decommissioning & Environmental Remediation Program requirements, expectations, and procedural updates.
• Prioritizing tasks and deliverables to support production goals and operational needs.
• Supporting document preparation, including work control documents and operating instructions.
• Establishing and maintaining quality assurance standards for record and information management.
• Evaluating and troubleshooting plant performance issues alongside Operations Team Leads and Technicians.
• Managing the application and implementation of Hazardous Energy Control (HEC) – Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) safety and control programs.
• Interfacing with Operations Team Leads and Technicians to monitor process performance, review SCADA trends, and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Reporting process performance and production data to internal and external stakeholders on a routine basis.
• Reviewing SCADA data sets and operational metrics to summarize findings and support decision‑making across the team. Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

-Education

• Graduation from a recognized institute of advanced technology, or equivalent formal education.
• Significant related experience, including at least three (3) years of supervisory/leadership experience and/or experience in information and record management. -Experience
• Experience leading teams and coordinating goals across diverse technical backgrounds.
• Awareness of corporate directives, management procedures, and standards applicable to wastewater operations.
• Experience in water treatment and waste management environments.
• Knowledge of Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission (CNSC) regulatory documents and requirements (e.g., CSA N294, CNSC regulatory guides, Site Licence Condition Handbook). -Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
• Ability to identify activities with significant health, safety, and environmental impacts.
• Strong written and oral communication skills; effective at sharing information with teams and stakeholders.
• Self‑starter capable of working independently with minimal oversight.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to maintain team cohesion.
• Skill in performance management, training, and coaching.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities, able to set priorities and meet deadlines.
• Experience with SCADA, PMX, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of information management, change management processes, and compliance programs. -Security Clearance Eligibility Required
• Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has**a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom.**CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions:

• Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a 37.5‑hour work week.
• Work may involve changing timelines, emergent issues, and multiple priorities in a multi‑department environment.
• Ability to don/doff PPE and perform moderately physical tasks in indoor and outdoor environments.

The CNL Historic Waste Program Management Office and the Port Hope Area Initiative projects are situated on the traditional lands of the Williams Treaties First Nations, specifically the Gunshot Treaty negotiated between the Crown and Mississauga Nation during the 1780s and represented today by the Williams Treaties First Nations. The Mississauga Nations are also signatories to various 18th and 19th century treaties that covered lands in different parts of south-central Ontario.
